I just got a stone that I love (thanks MinouBijoux!!!) and I want to set it in a RHR. I found some settings i love in the $400-$600 range, but that's more than I am able to spend right now.
Any ideas on where I can get a really inexpensive yellow gold setting? it's a fat cushion shape garnet, approx. 2 cts. I'll dig out a mm ruler this weekend to measure...
Ultimately, I'd like to set it in one of the following: an x-prong solitare, something like the sally/heart of water "mistral" or "ara",a sleek bezel like neatfreak had, or an engraved/simple filgree setting. (Basically, either something sleek and modern or something organic and fluid--I know, two extremes of the spectrum).
But for now, I just want to wear and it and get to enjoy it every day
Any ideas? it's my first colored stone purchase and I am kind of clueless here!
I think the stone will need to be prong set as it would darken a little in a bezel. So, it needs to be someone who does decent prongs, I know I may not get
quality prongs at this price point, but they can't be hideous even at a low price
