Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

I saw that one this morning and it wasn't reserved. Sure didn't take long!

(Oh, and no, it wasn't me. But darn you and justginger and the other FCD collectors. Now you have me ogling colored diamonds!)

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

It went for somewhere between $8,319 and $11,880 based on the above screen capture, which is the greens sorted by price.

That price is a steeeeeeeal compared to what I had to pay for my 0.26 Fancy Intense Green. :blackeye:
Maybe prices are falling.

If my memory serves me, it was on the higher end of the range you mentioned.

Wow! Yours is gorgeous! Much prettier color, in my opinion. And the cut is fantastic!

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

Kenny,
That stone is no where near as nice as yours. I'm a little shocked it got rated as an intense bluish green. It looks like a greyish green. Bad photo???

Thanks TL . . . but the price difference is like 2 or 3 times. :(sad

Anythingorange, since you registered a few weeks ago you may not have seen my kids.
I really do like to seduce people into the FCD world . . . it needs updating but . . . https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/fancy-colored-diamond-collection.159746/

Oh my gosh, stop! You're killing me! What an insanely beautiful rainbow of color!   Did I mention  ?! Wow, I'm speechless. They are all stunning. Of course, I especially like the yellowish-orange pear. :lickout:

I also love your photos. You are quite the photographer!

Well, I'm afraid that fancy-colored diamonds are not in my future, but I'll be more than happy to admire yours. Thanks for introducing me to your kids. :cheeky:

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

kenny,

It seems that you have a little of everything. Is there a particular color or color/shape combination that you're looking for next?

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

I saw it, but on my split monitor was my Seychelles hotel rates, so it wasn't me! :errrr: I only just upgraded my baby green, so need an FCD break anyway. I don't remember the exact price, but think it was in the low 10k area.

And Kenny, you know better than anyone...you simply can not compare FCDs and pricing. There is NO question that your green is the most beautiful FCD I have EVER seen, online or in real life. The color and cut are perfection and to me, it is easily worth 3 times the price of this new stone. Don't fret, it was a great purchase.

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

Kenny:

You know I am not a collector of FCDs, but I can ogle as well as the next person and I know what I like. Thanks for making it one less site for me to visit because I know that between the lot of you, photos of all the beautiful new stones will be posted here.

That said, I thought that new one posted today was very pretty and well cut. Until you reposted your green. Honey, there ain't a comparison. Yours looks like pure hue, the other one sure looks grey. If they graded that one as bluish green, then yours should be graded King of the Hill (there is a category for that, right? :Up_to_something: )

Please don't be sad...

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

But since no one wants it, can you just buy me the .16 blue green radiant cut? :praise:

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

WHen I saw the picture I didn;t even think it was an fcd, just dirty. The color of yours is far beyond this thing.

FCDs vary

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

Kenny - thanks for the link to your FCD thread... OMG!!!   Diamond **** shots!!! WOW - you are very skilled with a camera :appl: Very impressive photographs... and your diamonds ain't bad either

So glad you shared the link - thank you again

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

i saw that one when i woke up... was pondering about it... when i got to the office it was already reserved...

and yes it was in the low 10k...

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

Kenny, that stone is not in the same league as yours. When I think if green diamonds, I think of yours because it is first green that I ever liked.

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

Describing that diamond as intense seems more than kind to me. To me, it looks grayish green.

Your diamond is much more attractive in colour, Kenny. But then, I've never liked grayish stones.

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

Kenny, don't listen to them! If you don't like your green of COURSE you should have what your heart desires.

Please post on Diamond bistro. I reserve first dibs. Thanks.

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

There's no contest comparing your round and this new one. The intensity of colour just isn't there in the new FCD. You think it's just photography? Wouldn't make any sense though because I'm sure Leibish keeps their photography conditions as consistent as possible.

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

I absolutely echo what everyone else has said Kenny; your green diamond is easily head and shoulders above the other in color!

Re: Anyone grab this Round Fancy Intense Bluish-Green Diamon

Thanks everyone for the compliments on my Green Round.
I've never denied being an attention whore here, but I think this thread does have an educational take-away . . . how much two diamonds that are similarly GIA graded can vary in price (even 200 to 300%), even when both are from the same vendor.
Also keep in mind that my green was priced a few years ago before some nasty price increases.
Yes mine is Fancy Intense Green and the other was Fancy Intense Bluish Green but I think a Bluish secondary hue increases the price of a green.
Blue and green result from entirely different phenomena, so the odds of both occurring in one diamond are lower, making Blue-Greens more rare than pure blue or pure green.

IMHO with the big FCD vendors comparing prices is futile, except when the exact same diamond (same GIA report #) is for sale at two vendors.
The hue, cut and "attractiveness" of FCDs with identical GIA specs can just vary too much to make price comparisons meaningful.

I say, if you like it and can afford it just buy it.
And this is coming from a very cynical skeptical, grumpy, non-trusting-of-sellers kind of person.

That's me, but again people vary.
Some enjoy the bargain hunt and are good at it; I'm too lazy.
Some here have even gotten incredible deals on ungraded FCDs which they later got graded and clearly got killer deals, and kudos to them.

In the white diamond world I think it is reasonable to say James Allen has great prices compared to other PS vendors. (One of my own purchases confirmed this.)
But in the FCD world I think it is impossible to say a certain vendor is more or less expensive.
