Antique-style Cushion Cuts in NYC

I''m fairly new to the forums...I''ve been reading a lot...and I''ve learned a lot!! So, I thought I''d post and ask for some advice / help.

I''ve always loved Cushion Cut diamonds. They vary sooo much and I could never describe why I liked certain ones vs. others...until reading postings on this website - THANK YOU! I now know that I really love the antique style of cushion cut with the broader, chunky facets. As I''ve also come to learn, they can be more difficult to find. I''ve put some feelers out to some vendors based on some recommendations from PSers, but haven''t found "the one" yet...and I''m also still waiting to hear from some vendors. And, I know it can take some time to find what I''m looking for.

Anyway, I''m going to NYC at the end of Jan and I was thinking maybe it would be a good opportunity to see some in person! I''ve described what I''m looking for above - to add, I''m looking for a rectangular one, around 1.5 - 2.2 carats, budget of $9000 or less.

So the question is....

***Does anyone know of any specific places / vendors that I should contact and possibly meet with in NYC to view some cushion cuts like this???***

There is another place in NYC called Old World Diamonds. I don''t know much about them but I came across them on Pricescope and I recall that someone had a good experience. You might do a search on these boards for them.

Please let me know how your search is going. I may be looking for an antique cushion, too. I''ll be in NY in early April and am planning on visiting Mark at ERD. I''m jealous that you''ll be there in Jan-what fun! Wishing you lots of luck.

Oh, good! I didn''t realize he was in NYC. I sent him an email...haven''t hear back yet, but I''m sure I will soon. He semms to have a lot of happy customers on PS. I''ll definitely let him know that I''ll be in town.

Yes, he's (Mark) right across fron Leon Mege

Oops almost forgot about Old World Diamonds.
Purrfect Pear got her OMC from there. However these are true antique cushions, not cushions cut in an chunky antique look. Personally, I would favor the antique cushions over modern. But both are beautiful!
