@JPie I agree with this. I would do them as a short earring- I think it is period appropriate!

Here's a third option, plus I made the accents bigger to see if that makes them look more balanced:

I like the short version, but if you did the one accent diamond, I think that works too. It doesn't turn them into a "long" earring and is balanced. I like both versions of that, but it is up to you- do you want the small diamond at the top?

I don't care for the two diamond in the center personally.

@elizat we're on the same page about keeping them period appropriate! The seller is going to have her bench weigh in as well, but thanks to this thread I've decided it will either be with only one accent diamond or none at all.

Update: I heard back from the seller last week and this is what her bench did:

Luckily the seller was completely behind doing this conversion right and let her bench know that the diamond accent needed to be rose cut, collet set in silver, and right above the cluster.

Today I got these first photos from her bench:



Sure, the accent is bezeled and not collet set, but close enough frankly. Given the first pass, I think that’d push this bench beyond what he can do. I asked for it to be oxidized a little more to match the clusters.

More pics to come once I get them from the seller!

Thanks, me too! I think once they oxidize the little diamonds more, they'll blend in more with the rest of the earrings. I'm counting on those giant foiled rosies in the centers to grab all the attention.

Thanks! I think the re-do looks fine. Unless I know for sure that a jeweler can knock a collet setting out of the park, I suspect I'd do well to leave it as is.
