This lovely pin was part of my grandmothers jewelry collection. She was very well to-do and had some very costly pieces of jewelry. This little fawn pin appears to be of exceptional quality (very intricate latch - see pic), but there are not any hallmarks/stamps on the piece. I haven't had it tested for gold purity, although it is very heavy for its size. I'm just curious if anyone has seen a similar piece that can share information regarding age, maker, etc. Thanks!

It looks like a Bambi brooch. The movie "Bambi" came out in 1942. Yours is likely to be vintage ie 1950s but I don't think the brooch is gold. The pin Clasp is one of the standard types, even for costume jewellery.

I have a pendant that looks very much line your pin, but it's solid silver and doesn't have either the enamel or the jewels. (I'll dig it up and post a picture after the holidays.) I found mine on the street many years ago.

I agree with Bron357 - this pin was modeled after Walt Disney's "Bambi" character.
