hello folks,

i will recut my 7,85 carat heat only blue sapphire in may. dimensions are like 14mm/10mm/7mm.
i am still not sure HOW it should be done and would be very happy if i found some mind directions here.
my main problem with the stone is the lustre and the appearence at all.
the other thing is that the stone has chipped a part below the girdle after i dropped it. a whole facette is gone.
on the table side too there should happen a recut because two facette junctions are gone also.

i want the maximum lustre at minimum weight loss.

due to colorzoning the bottom point of the pavillon should stay where it is. is that feasible?

should i stay with an oval shape? i would love a cushion cut! (weight loss?)

i really appreciate your ideas!

You'll get the best answers to your questions by asking a vendor who offers recuts, like gemartservices.

It seems your stone has nice depth (minimal window which is always good) and the main issues are with the bowtie visible and half half extinction in the last photo. I can only assume that a cushion cut will significantly reduce the weight.

The pavilion seems slightly off centre in one photo but I'm positive Jerry will be able to work with it.

I'd drop Jerry an email and ask.

+1. I think only a cutter can give you good advice. Please post shots after your recut!
