I had to have a glass of wine and make sure the baby was sleeping before I opened this link!
While I was reading, I opened another tab and wrote out my thoughts.
a. I'm never eating squid or snails again.
b. evolution is a thing because vaginas of many species are too simple
c. not every species is male/female. some are hermaphrodites, making things easier to perpetuate a species.
d. while females are also biologically attuned to breeding, it is not always possible for them to escape males' stealthy adaptations and cunning.
e. Q: if we have gathered so much info about other species' sexual relations and their ability to procreate, why haven't we figured out more about the human issue of infertility?
f. Throughout human evolutionary history, women may just have chosen to have sex more times with the men best able to provide sexual pleasure, making it more likely that these men would father their children and pass on their genes for larger penises - particularly since humans must often have sex several times to guarantee a pregnancy. “Female humans are in the unusual position among mammals of being able to 'test' male genitalia pretty thoroughly before passing along a male's genes,” says Miller.*
*f. is a quote directly from the linked article. Not quite sure what I think about all of it.
All in all, a very interesting article along with phenomenal photographs. Thanks for posting this, Kenny.
