Am I the only one...

This is the first year I am not really feelin' snow, but I would love it if it snowed tomorrow in time for Christmas. This year we're all having a harder time catching the spirit, and snow always helps!

that is hoping for a sunny and 50ish Xmas day? I actually screamed as best as my frail and sick voice could do when I heard "snow showers possible" tomorrow on xmas eve. I am not a fan of snow. I despise it in fact. I see no beauty in it, at all. It kills people in traffic, it kills people clearing it. It's hideously awful. Nothing positive about it. Not one damn thing.

But beyond that..it has been gloomy and gray and bleh and rainy for like a month solid and I cannot stand it anymore. I wanna see what my new car looks like in sunlight, dammit.

You are not the only one. I used to enjoy and love the snow but these days I cannot tolerate the cold that comes with it and I prefer sunny warmth. I guess I am just a big bah humbug when it comes to winter these days oh well. Snow just gets so dirty here so fast too so really it stays pretty for about a minute yanno?

I'd love a sunny Christmas, but it's been raining here off and on. It's supposed to be in the 50s tomorrow, which is very unusual for December in northern New England.

I don't mind a few good snowstorms each winter but since I don't do any winter sports, I just admire how pretty it looks from the comfort of my warm house. It's the ice storms and icy roads that I can't stand.

no I wish it was sunny and warm, its suppose to be cold and snow showers here tomorrow as well, the older I get the more I detest the cold and snow.

I love a white christmas, and living in canada we usually get it. This year it's been oddly warm, and we are are supposed to get some snow tomorrow, however it might melt before christmas gets here!

I mostly want snow this year because as we moved into a brand new house, there is dirt EVERYWHERE outside (no sod). So, a good blanket of snow would cover that nicely and not look so yucky.

ETA - we are only expecting 1cm of snow :(

trade 'jda. "snowfall warning" 10-20cms here....
Just as long as I don't have to drive in it!

It may be 55 and Sunny today (YAY BEST XMAS EVER) but my gift from DH was the best: DH got me a snowblower lol! I had sent a text the other day from Costco, that had nice snowblowers on special, saying "I WANT ONE OF THESE" with a photo. He chimed back "you're crazy, we don't get enough snow to need one, plus you have a Subaru now, it drives right through it."

The following day, he went to Costco at lunch and bought one. I have NO IDEA how he got it home unless he took my dad with him bec this box did not fit in his car. I did notice the charge on our Amex and think "what the hell did he buy at Costco that cost $XXX"... And now I know. He says it's the lamest gift ever, akin to buying your wife a vacuum for Valentine's Day. I said it's awesome. I asked for it, and it means he actually listened. That means winner.

I am the one that has to do the driveway, he doesn't have that "I am snowed in" excuse for work, so usually even if I get the "stay home, the roads suck, your car isn't paid for by us" thing from my bosses like I did in January, I still have to clear it. My parents helped last year, because even if I clean it off, if the wind has anything to say about it, we'll get a snowdrift between our house and the neighbor that's massive between the houses and all my work gets undone. This will fix that right up. I am SO EXCITED.

Woohoo!!! So glad you got your snowblower ame!!! Now I hope you don't have much need for it. Hoping Murphy's Law is at work this winter for us all. :appl:

And I hope you are feeling all better too!

It is a beautiful sunny 60 degree day in California today.

Hi Ame,

I can hear the excitement in your post and can completely understand. Then again, I hinted for like crazy and loved the vacuum my husband bought for we while we were dating. My husband traveled a lot and bought a really powerful snow blower about ten years ago. You know men, it was the mother of all snow blowers. Then one of the neighbors came over laughing telling him it had too much power and his wife looked like a rag doll being thrown all over the driveway as I used it. He hired a snow service to do our driveway shortly afterward. Truth be told I did love using the snowblower. I did get thrown all over using it but It was so much fun.

Are you feeling better?

Callie

Getting there, FINALLY. Thank you both for checking in! I hope this continues. I couldn't fall asleep for sh!t last night, but today's been a slow day at work so I'll be ok.

I was really wondering if I would be when I finished that Zpak the other day but today I am really getting there. Earlier this week I had almost no voice which was really ridiculous being that I do a lot of work on the phone. No one could hear me and I was generally useless ... It was comical when I sneezed though. I sounded like a little yappy dog.

I am so giddy about this thing. It's ridiculous. He thinks it's crazy. I was SO EXCITED and I do hope I have little need. I kept trying to find someone to plow my driveway for me, and then I'd just shovel out our cars but no one will do it! Now I will be happily chuckin' snow at my neighbors house...

I am SOOOOOO not a winter/snow fan yet I live in Eastern Ontario that is known for wintery climates and temps that average -20C in the winter PLUS windchill which lowers the sensation even further!! HATE driving in the snow - hate to shovel it - hate to slip and fall in it - HATE THE SNOW!

YET - yesterday, Christmas day, we had a few showers and temps in the 5C to 9C range, with some wind that blew away the puddles and melted what remained of our snow. I have grass in my backyard and a clear driveway right now!! YAY for no snow!!

Ame, the first time I used our snowblower my husband was out of town and so were the husbands of two my neighbors. I did all three of our driveways and boy was I sore. My arms felt like they were going to fall off. The man two doors down was outside and saw what I was doing. Do you think he'd walk down and help me with the neighbors drive ways! No such luck!

50 today in Boston and 50 in Las Vegas. Go figure :o
