Alternatives to Tiffany legacy eternity band?

I’m thinking the Tiffany Legacy eternity band, 2.2mm wide with milgrain might be a good band to match with my solitaire (Vatche Corsica, pic in Avatar)

Are there other alternatives I should be considering that might get me more bang for my buck or better quality diamonds?

Whiteflash can modify the Legato sleek line by adding milgrain, but it is only a 3/4 band.

Brian Gavin has something similar, but it is only half eternity

Whiteflash can make a full eternity with bead set stones. I had one made earlier this year. I will post a pic later tonight of you want.

The divisi by whiteflash is very similar to the legacy and can be made full eternity.

Same for Brian Gavin, they can certainly modify. However, I have another q - are you open to preloved? You might be able to find a real T&Co in your size.

That’d be great! WF told me they could only do the full eternity (ie custom) with the purchase of a certified stone from them

Will also check out the Divisi

Totally open to pre-loved. So far, have only found sizes lower than 5 and 8. I need a 7.25ish

Tiffany only does half stock sizes, so your best bet would be a 7.5. Let me look around.

20180706_215747.jpg Hey tophat. I didn't realize that purchasing a certified stone was a requirement for custom jewelry. Anyway here is a pic of a modified divisi, full eternity at 2.6mm wide in 18k yg. The divisi is normally 2 or 2.2mm wide I prefer a bit wider due to my huge man hands.20180706_215753.jpg

Thanks simoned!!!! I am not sure if I want my bands wider due to my hands or that I am a product of the 80s, lol!

I know! I thought long and hard when that was posted. It’s a gorgeous ring but I want something that won’t compete with my solitaire when worn together. I do already have a 3 ctw Band that is lovely to wear on its own but takes away from the solitaire

@Tophat1 can we see your soli, what are the specs?

Hi! Your e-ring is beautiful. In my opinion, I think an eternity is going to make your I stone look more yellow. I would suggest you look at an eternity band next to your e-ring and compare color and really stare at it. Your I will definitely show color against an eternity which are typically not I color stones. I have an H e-ring in a solitare setting and I had a moment when I thought I wanted an eternity. When I tried it on, the first thing my husband said to me was “it makes your diamond look yellow”. If you don’t mind that, that’s great. But be sure you test it out so there are no regrets.

You have a great size stone, and for me, I would let your diamond shine and be the star. Your e-ring is gorgeous and does not need competition.

Just my two cents. Hope this helps.

Ditto @Miki Moto, if you are colour-sensitive full-cut melee (even low-colour full-cut melee) is not your friend.

Leon Mege’s workmanship is exceptional. He makes a band in exactly this style and can source low-colour single-cut melee, which will eliminate the “apparent” colour difference. I own this band for exactly this reason - mine has milgrain on the channels just like you’re looking for.

What is your budget? Note that single cuts will demand a premium over website pricing, which is for full-cut melee, and low-coloured single-cuts will likely carry additional I-am-buying-this-parcel-specifically-for-you cost on top of that.

Single-cut stones have far fewer, far larger facets - those larger facets will both return light more similarly to larger facets of larger stones (like your centerstone), mitigating differences due to flavour of light return, and will give a drop in body colour more gravitas, mitigating differences due to material colour concentration.

Edit - Do the two bands below look to be of the same colour the same to you? I took this photo of two of my own bands (both from Leon, the style I linked above):

The one on the left has low-colored (some vendors might call it I/J, others K/L, but it’s all from the same stock) single-cut melee in PT 950/Ru. The one on the right has higher coloured (F/G) single-cut melee in PT 950/Ru, but is slightly lower ctw. The colour difference is spot on for real-world distinction... some see it, some don’t, some have a preference, some don’t. No right or wrong.

I have a BGD "I" solitaire and, when worn next to my Tiffany embrace, I definitely see the yellow in the "I." Once you see it, it can't be unseen. :(2

I still love my stone, but it will be upgraded.

Thanks all for the feedback on color and bands. I went to a Tiffany store today and tried on the legacy in both sizes next to my solitaire. I definitely preferred the smaller one and my solitaire did not look yellow next to it, but I recognize that jewelry store lighting is not reality and without as much spotlighting and sparkle, I may see something else in the real world.

I will also take a look at the Leon in more detail. I love how customizable it can be.

wow that is so helpful, i can totally see the difference there

I have the Legacy 2.2mm band and have worn it with G and I colored diamonds. These are tiny little stones, not like a band of 10 pointers where you can readily see color. With larger stones, I would be far more cautious in matching color. I am kind of color sensitive, but this is not an issue with a band that narrow with tiny melee.

If WF won't make it, I'd check with Maytal Hannah. She made my daughter's Legacy style band 2.5mm in platinum and had a very small sizing area that was engraved so not noticeable at all. She can make it whatever width you want, and her quality is excellent. Prices were good at the time, too, but it has been several years.

Thanks, I will check out Maytal hannah as well!

I have the .75 tcw version of that WF 7 stone that I wear with a 1.5 carat center. I think I could have pushed to a 1 tcw and been fine. It’s a GORGEOUS band and great for a wear alone. I realize you have another band to wear alone so that may not be of interest to you.

I personally would like a band similar to the Tiffany legacy too. Just to have some variety!

I've compared my single cut band from Victor Canera to the Tiffany Legacy and I find there to be much less metal and finer prongs with Victor's band. Something to consider.
