Hello ladies,
I’m planning on proposing to my girlfriend of more than 5 years. Since we just bought our first place together, I believe this is the perfect time for me to propose. I’ve already started looking for engagement ring at B&M stores in my area and found that most of them does not even carry GIA/AGS stones and if they do, the stones are quite overpriced.

Any comments regarding the stone? Should I request ASET or IS images?

I think they will both be nice. But yes, do request idealscope images and reserve both stones immediately before a lurker takes one! My choice at the moment is the first one, but that could change depending on the idealscope.

Thanks for your help DS!! As you suggested, I put both stones on hold and requested an Idealscope and Aset images. I also set-up an appoinment to talk to the gemologist regarding the stone.

What questions should I asked the gemologist?

So far this is what I have:

a. Is it eyeclean within 6"-12"
b. light performance
c. inclussions ( if affects the integrity of the diamond)

PS. Do you think this is a good size stone for the setting, Tacori 2638RDP. I believe her finger size is 3.5.

Probably the only thing to ask is performance. Eye-clean and inclusions for that size and clarity level is almost never going to be a problem.

Also prefer #1 from the info available.
