Hello everyone, I came across this forum while i was searching about diamonds and it seems very helpful. Anyway, I plan on proposing to my G/F in 2 months in Hawaii and i am very excited but geez,... Searching for the right diamond is a job in itself lol but fun at the same time.. I live here in NYC and ive been to some malls in Jersey and here in NYC, also diamond district but everywhere i have gone.. just pushy, pushy and pushy. Some have even went as far as say that the diamond was Flawless and i pointed some spots on the diamond and asked to view it under the scope,.. some places refused and kept on with the same line.. "this is a beautiful ring, look how nice it is" over and over. now i know it pays to educate yourself on diamonds before anything because alot of places will feed you lies.. But i think i have found something very nice and i would like to get everyones opinions on this ring.. Im leaning towards this one........ Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thank you..

Hi NY!

I know nothing about Princess, but I''m sure someone who does will chime in. I just wanted to say, you couldn''t meet a nicer bunch at the following shop, I purchased from them myself, but long distance. They''re in Long Island, and if you could, I''d make it a point to go visit!

Thanks alot Ellen, I appreciate it. Hopefully someone will let me know if this ring is worth it or not. Also for others with Diamonds of .70 - .80, can you please post a picture to see how the diamonds look at that Carat weight, i know different diamond vary from one to another but i would love to get an idea. Thanks so much to everyone.

I don''t know a lot about ideal princess measurements, but there is a GIA Excellent cut and there is an AGS0, which is also the top of the line cut. I''d agree with Ellen that Good Old Gold would be a great place to visit. Make an appointment and they will give you a diamond education on your visit.

If you did go with the ring you posted, be sure it has a matching wedding band, because it will be hard to match up another band with it. You need to give the stone measurements, though, for anyone to comment on the diamond itself.

Hey DiamondSeeker, Thanks for the reply, As far as the details of the diamond go, i have come up with the following...

Depth %: 70.5%

Table %: 76%

Symmetry: Good

Polish: Good

Girdle: Thin to extremely thick

Culet: None

Fluorescence: None

Measurements: 5.02 x 4.82 x 3.40 mm

Length/width ratio: 1.04

What does everyone think? Thank you..
