It looks like your diamond is about 7mm wide and maybe 4.25mm deep. Based on this it should be about 1.25 ct.

Have you really tried to clean it up yet? It looks very cloudy, but maybe it is simply dirty on the pavilion. You can boil it with a little Ammonia and water (mostly water) for several minutes and brush it out with an old toothbrush. It might really sparkle a whole lot more. Then again, it may be a very clouding diamond. If cleaning works, you will be much happier.

Facets look like a branded LEO diamond?

Yes, clean it and send more pictures!!!

how wonderful you now have your Gran's ring
its a really nice size compaired to my grandma's depression era ER
i hope you will have it resized so you will wear it in memory of your grandparents
every diamond does not need to be perfect to be special
but they do all look better when they are clean

i love the shape of the band !
when did your gran and pop get married ?

Very beautiful ring.
6.5mm width is 1 carat estimated, yours seems to be just over 7mm so that’s around 1.20 carats.
You can give it a quick clean up with an old toothbrush and a bit of dishwashing liquid. scrub gently, especially the underneath parts, rinse and set aside to dry.
always put your plug into the sink before cleaning jewellery and place it in a dish to dry up out of reach of kids, pets and accidental bumps!
