Advice on buying a Hearts on Fire Diamond

Hi guys, I'm about to buy a Hearts on Fire diamond wedding ring that is 1.54 Carats, D Color and SI1 Clarity. What do you thinks about that? Any advice?

They are telling me I'm getting a pretty good deal, what should be the range $$ of this diamond on the market so I can compare?l and I have to decide by tomorrow

what's the price?

compared to branded stones from online vendors it's probably pretty steep - can look at whiteflash ACAs, Good Old Gold signature H&As, Brian Gavin Diamonds signature H&As, Crafted by Infinity H&As for an idea

HoF are well made stones but probably sell for 25% premium over other H&A stones.

Yes, I would highly advise you to reconsider that transaction. You can get totally equivalent hearts and arrows cut stones for far less than Hearts on Fire brand. When I looked, they were more like 30% more.

I am also looking at HOF diamonds and have questions as well. I was shown a HOF 1.204 carat with the below metrics which grades out nicely to a 0.8 on HCA.

An eye-clean non-cloudy/hazy SI stone looks visually similar to VS+ stones, given that everything else is the same.

The difference between G and I color is noticeable to most people, but whether one is preferable over another depends on personal preference.

Let's just say that I'd rather have the G-H color and VS clarity by buying the WhiteFlash diamond over paying for the HoF brand and getting SI1. Color is more visible, unless you can see the inclusions! But I still prefer VS stones when possible. I did look at a HoF diamond once and it helped me to see what a well cut diamond looked like. But I ended up buying hearts and arrows stones from Good Old Gold and WhiteFlash, and since have had an old stone recut by Brian Gavin. Hearts on Fire is about as good as you can find in a local jewelry store, but there are equivalent brands out there for less money when you do a little research. And this is a great place to learn!

Here are three more H & A options . Hope I am getting closer. By going with VS and G color,the Whiteflash ACA stone is approx 10% higher than James Allen. How does this JA stone #1 compare to WF stone #2? Unfortunately, I am in Texas and will have to pay taxes for WF. #3 being a VS2 and H, how does it compare?

I think all three stones are going to look similar. Going by WF standards, the JA likely doesn't pass as a H&A. If you are color sensitive you may notice the difference between G and H. I suggest paying WF and BGD a visit if it's not too much of a drive.

I agree with thbmok. If you are color sensitive you may notice the difference. I have a G colored stone and an H colored stone and I can tell the difference in color (it's not in ANY way significant though).

If you are considering an H colored stone, BGD has a few H&A ones in your price range.
