I like the first one better. I felt the image on the second had a slightly dark center.
First one is has good contrast, good color and will be eye clean.

Sorry for reviving an old thread but I'm in the market for another lab diamond with the same spec. I'm wondering if someone could help me with the following list from James Allen:

Thanks in advance!

Little bit bigger spread, but these jumped out and grabbed my eyes.

Here's a 1.53 E VS1 with a GCAL 8X report.

Some True Hearts options, and the first one is on sale.

I also found options under $4000 since I noticed that was the price range you were looking in before.

This one has my favorite proportions: smaller table, taller crown, nice and fiery!

Wow thanks so much guys! I'll look these over and hopefully I will be able to narrow it down.

I'm back to bother you guys again, apologies in advance but I didn't end up buying the diamond last time.

Could I borrow your eyes again on these?

Or would you suggest a different vendor than James Allen? Thanks again!

Found some good ones at various price points.

Would you be OK with a completely eye-clean SI1?

Nice GCAL picks, Kim N!

Speaking of GCAL, FD has some nice ones within budget, like this one:

Thank you both! I'm thinking 2 carat might look too big on size 4.75. Realistically I'm trying to stay under 4k delivered.

Right now I'm leaning towards the 2nd one:

D-49671126

and it falls within all of the specs I defined.

Or do you guys think I should just save the 600 dollars on the setting? It seems to me like the 1st one is a bit cleaner? Or do you think the difference would be negligible?

They both look quite clean, so the difference will be negligible. If it were me, I would save the $600, as I have a slight preference for the proportions on the F.

Apologies...the link that you posted to the JA search showed a max price of $5000, so that's what I ran with.

I don't think 2ct would be too big on a size 4.75 at all! That's me, though.

You can use the site DiamDB.com to get a visual comparison between a 1.75 and a 2 carat and it'll even tell you what the surface area difference is.

If you would prefer to stick around 1.75 carats, then here are some others with GCAL 8X to take a look at... although that 1.75 F VS1 that Kim N posted above is a heck of a nice deal.

Here are a couple of D color options with GIA reports:

Just out of curiosity, what's the advantage of purchasing one with a GIA report?

Other than the familiarity worldwide with the GIA brand-name, nothing, in my opinion.
To many the name is critical and crucial...nothing wrong with that.
AGS Triple Zero and GCAL 8X would be my recommendations for getting a top performing diamond.
