Advice needed: Finding an engagement ring a new home/finger

Hi everyone -

A friendly person on Ebay directed me to this forum and mentioned I may could get some good advice.

I've got an engagement ring that was unfortunately given back after about 5 months. Now comes that awful process of doing something with the ring. I put the ring on eBay with what I considered a great price (given what I paid for it). However I haven't had any real interest, even after dropping the price several times.

It's a 1.20 Asscher G VS1 GIA-Certified

I'm starting to wonder if I should go in another direction. What can I do to better market this ring? Are my pictures acceptable? I think they look good but of course I'm just an average Joe.

Do I need to give up hope selling the ring online and put it on consignment?

Would I be better off selling the diamond by itself?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated...

You need better picture. Start with a pristinely clean stone.

Have you considered posting it on loupetroop/diamondbistro? Those are more specialized jewelry selling venues than ebay, so it might be easier to find a buyer.

And I do second the "better pictures" advice - is there any chance you got any glamour shots from the vendor that really showcases the ring?

:wavey: A picture face-on of the center stone in a couple of lighting situations would be helpful. A super-clean diamond will really show it off to advantage.
Best of luck!
