About to buy a diamond, sanity check please?

Hi everyone,

I have been on and off searching for an engagement ring for a while.

Here is what I have come down to:

Setting:

And I am looking for a H&A diamond somewhere in the 1.15-1.3 ctw range

1.21 I VS2 eye clean:

Am I going to notice the J vs I color...or for that matter, do I need to be in the H range?

I am somewhat under a time crunch to get everything set and delivered (I know not ideal) and I really am set on the setting, so if there are better/cheaper diamonds at another jeweler they would need to have a very similar setting!

I think the I VS2 looks great. The only other vendor you might look at is Brian Gavin...i'm just partial to his "blue" line with strong blue fluorescence. It just gives the diamond more personality and his stones are known for their performance. The first one has strong blue fl. and the second one is a signature H &A. I doubt he would post an SI1 that was not eye clean in his signature lines.

You might ask for an ASET image on the JA H & A stones and post for others to respond on the ASET comparisons. They will show if there is any light leakage or if one looks better than the other. There are other PSr's who know more about MRB cuts...hope this helps.

What is the story with the loupetroop listing? Couple questions...what does it mean that it is re-cut and also who I am paying for this? Does it come with similar return guarantees from BG
