More to RedSpinel about fluorescence - and a question re. treatment in rubies.

This is my very old thread. The stone is beautiful and does not look as dark as in the second picture (I photographed it in the darkest corner of my office), but the first photo is not even in the sun, it is on the window next to a sunlight street, but inside). Still you can see the color. No fluorescent light at all was used.

The stone is beautiful but it is H(a), I wish I could afford unheated but they are very expensive, and I mean it. They have quadrupled since that time.

Here is a better photo of the stone. In a bright light, but no sunlight.

However, because treatment in rubies has been raised, I, too, would like to know more about it.

I love the photos of it glowing.

Arkteia,
Is this thread only to discuss fluorescence or treatment of rubies? I don't want to threadjack again. :cheeky:

Sorry for not formulating my question right. I started it in an attempt to demonstrate what fluorescence in a ruby (and probably, a spinel) would mean IRL, but then realized that treatments of rubies and their practical implications were much more interesting.

So yes, it is about treatment. Sorry, Chrono.

I hope you don't mind starting a new thread then because many might skip over this thinking it is only about fluorescence in rubies. Sorry for the trouble. ::)
