I hope you guys will join me in celebrating the life of Puma, without doubt the most influential pet of my life. Puma taught me so many things about life and has been through 14 years with me, hugged me when I cried and celebrated with me when I was happy. A kitten born very sick with many genetic problems, a rescue from a kitten miller situation, he defeated the odds, he was my miracle cat, one that would always survive, his intelligence and ability to love was almost superhuman. He was solid as a rock, stable, the one that kept us all together. Gone but never ever forgotten. He was happiest on your chest, wrapping his paws around your neck and tucking his head underneath your chin, there for hours as long as he could, living purely on love despite his always ailing health.

On December 23, Puma fell ill and the morning of the 27th left this world due to a long fought battle with cancer which he did not suffer from until the very end, in fact he never even gave a sign of it except for his persistent breathing problem. His human and animal family miss him terribly.

Hope you will enjoy the photo tribute to him.

I will begin by Wonder courtesy of Jean Papo Catography, wonder was a fitting name for such a hero.

Beautiful tribute to sweet Puma!

Ovi, he knew you loved him and treasued him. I'm sorry for your loss, I know you miss him so much.

If you have more pics, would love to see them. I had an orange cat years ago, a big boy, and when he died it left a real hole in the household. I know you're feeling the same and I'm thinking about you.

I had to start with my favorite pic of him where he looks like he is waving goodbye. More from his young years:

Thanks Kristie! I am trying to upload some pix of him. I realize that it looks like he is being choked on this second pic but he loved neck rubs soooo much that if you tried to take your hand away he would pull it back, the last days of his life he also pulled his best friend Niello the same way. I really appreciate you being there for me Kristie, I would not have been able to cope with it without you girls!

Such a beautiful tribute and wonderful story. I like your pictures, he looks very much loved! {{hugs}}

He had the most beautiful emerald green eyes, some of the pix show that. pumie_emerald_eyes.jpg

The year is almost over here and wanted to end it by paying tribute to more than a simple being, an era of my love.

Last pic taken by us this year, at 13 years of age. Yes, Puma was a very big boy and not because he was overfed but because he had patella, hip dysplasia and megacolon among others. Hence, his weight loss and intestinal and lung lymphoma were overlooked and his lung rattle had been there for at least two years but he had almost perfect bloodwork, kidneys and heart even right before his passing and did not lose interest in love and his food. May your spirit be free.

So sorry for your loss! I am so glad that you and Puma had so many great memories together.

I lost my beloved Fluffy in October of 2013. She was my first "baby" and lived to be 12 years old. She was very ill when the vet said that the best thing to do would be to let her go. Fluffy rallied the day before we took her to the vet and spent quality time with me, my husband, and the boys(who she loved and weren't even 2 at the time) before the last visit to the vet. It was very difficult for her to walk.

I say all of this to let you know that I understand the deep sadness that comes with the loss of a pet.

I had a picture of Fluffy made and set in a small crystal block. Just an idea for you to keep Puma in memory.

We will all so enjoy your tribute to Puma.

He was gorgeous, and so lucky to be loved so much.

I'm so sorry :blackeye:

(ETA I lost my orange boy around the same time - Dec 1 of 2012 - he was my first cat, and a sweetheart.)

Is Puma purring in this photo? What a beauty!

Thank you Crystal and CJ! Your responses and joining me to celebrate Puma means a lot to me, I really appreciate it.

In fact, Pumie may have been purring on the photo, he was always purring, when you entered the room you could hear him from afar, he did not talk much and when he did he had the softest baby like voice, he purred instead. He had the deepest expression, my late grandma used to say that he had the expression of a human, he would also give her joy when she began falling ill by laying on her chest purring and hugging her, she was not used to letting cats so close but Puma won her over. Everyone loved Puma and Puma loved everyone, he was sooo trusting.

Crystal, I am also extremely sorry about your loss of Fluffy. Of course do share, I am here to listen to others too and enjoy the stories of others, if we pay tribute to Puma, we can pay tribute to all of our beloved pets gone much too soon but not forgotten.

CJ I am also so sorry about your loss! I hope you can all still have pets to bring you much joy.

I lost my kitty soulmate Stella last year at too young of an age and it was very difficult to come to terms with. Somehow, Puma I never thought I would lose, he had such a presence like he was here to stay forever. Many of us are pet lovers here and share the joys and sadness of separating from our beloved pet family members.

Ovincze - what a beautiful cat cat - Puma was a very apt name! I'm glad that you have such wonderful photos and memories, but... I'm very sorry for your loss.

Thank you so much for your kindness VRBeauty! I know, I have been very sad about it too but I would like to turn it into something positive, turn his memory into something constructive like I have been thinking about volunteering for helping people who experience pet loss. I would like to make sure that Puma and his legacy live on.

Ovi, thank you for sharing Puma with us. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Puma was a beautiful soul. You gave him a loving home and a wonderful life and he knew how much he was loved and you knew how much he loved you.

I love all your pics here and this one is priceless. Look at that precious face. OMG what a love.

Biggest hugs to you Ovi.

Ahhh, thanks Missy, you are so beyond sweet, thank you so much, you know that without your support it would have been much harder. I wish you a much more cheerful, happier, healthier New Year! Here it is already 2015.

RIP, dear Puma: you loved well and were well loved.

I love that pic too, the expression on his face is funny! He sure had personality.

Beautiful eyes, just a gorgeous cat.

Without your love and care he would never have made it.

OV, I am so sorry and wish there was something I could do or say to make dealing with your loss easier. He was such a sweet boy and it is very obvious in all the picture that he knew he was loved. You gave him a wonderful home OV. You were a wonderful mom to him. I wish all animals were cared for and loved the way Puma was. Thank you for posting the pictures of Puma. He had the most beautiful eyes. What a beautiful tribute.

Thank you so much girls! Callie and Kristie you are the best, thank you for all your support, also I really appreciate you thinking of Puma MovieZombie.

Kristie, we Aby lovers call that the "eat shit and die" expression.:))) Abys can have such a feral look on their faces, while Pumie was the biggest, sweetest teddy bear but they have that wild expression and very expressive faces.

Oh honey, this made me tear up! What a loving tribute to such a beautiful sweet baby! Love that face and those gorgeous eyes.

I am heartbroken for your loss but can see that Puma was well loved and had a brilliant life with you. My condolences.

Thank you dear gwendolyn for your words of kindness and participating in paying tribute to Pumie, it means a lot to me that I can share with others how wonderful he was!

He was a beautful cat and has a place in your heart forever.

kind regards--Sharon
