A spacer band?

Hello everyone. I just got a new wedding set (lost my old one a few years back and I've been wearing a plain band). and I'm a bit worried about rubbing. My rings have a tiny gap between them and the solitaire's prongs rub against the band's tiny prongs. I'm worried over time that the tiny prongs on the band will rub down. I was looking at some 1-1.5mm rose gold bands to place one in between the solitaire and diamond band to help with this issue. My question is - Is this a good idea? Should I not worry about it? Or am I correct in that it will rub down the band's tiny prongs over time? Thanks everyone!

My rings: (I don't have any side shots at the moment. Sorry)!

The second photo is the closest photo I have to a side shot of the band. If you look closely you can see its prongs and how it rubs while I am wearing it against to the solitaire's prongs.

I have a similar situation and use a "sol" spacer from Jeweler on the Roof (Etsy) between my set. Does the trick and looks very nice, IMHO.

Your rings are beautiful!

I also vote for a small spacer. My friend has an almost identical set except her solitaire is an emerald cut, and she has had to have the claws on her eternity ring re-tipped twice over the last 9 years. It causes her stress but that's how she likes to wear them & has refused to pop her plain wedding band inbetween her claws. She is currently investigating having the solitaire reset higher by the same jeweller who reset my pear higher to avoid chewing. A spacer will save you so much stress & expense :wavey:

I agree in the idea of a small spacer. I have one and it does the trick. Btw, your rings are lovely!

Another vote for the spacer and I want to say that your rings are just gorgeous!!!

Another vote. I also have a Sol band, though I wear a 1.5mm band because I want it to look more like a plain band than an invisible spacer (prior to this I wore a 2mm band as a spacer).

Absolutely gorgeous rings! I love the way they look with the spacer. I've been looking on Etsy, too. I'll definitely check that seller out. And thank you very much! :)

Wow! :o After that if I were your friend I would definitely be investing into a spacer! Especially since in the long run that saves money anyways. Also, IDK if you've checked out the prices for super thin 14k gold bands (on Etsy at least) but they're dirt cheap! :appl:

I'm not sure if I know the difference in a Sol band and any other band. I would love to know though, please! :)

I'm not sure you NEED it, but it certainly won't hurt - better safe than sorry

Mine is the 1mm.

I just ordered a 1mm band on Etsy in silver to see if the size works before I drop the money on a platinum or palladium one.

Mixed metal, can I ask what setting your Ering is please??
