A project to make a vintage ring...

I posted this in CS but am so happy I wanted to share with everyone! CS has a great group with PSers who are so helpful. For this project I set out to make a vintage ring because I could not find a real antique or vintage ring in my price range and that I loved. I found a ring that I loved with all diamonds that I used as an inspiration for a new old ring. With help on colors and settings in the two threads below I finally have a ring worthy of becoming an heirloom in my family!

Stats: .86ct medium blue sapphire purchased from LT and a lovely PSer who bought it from another lovely PSer minousbijoux, 1ctw OEC diamonds set in platinum custom design.

I don't have it yet but it was shipped today and it is my Christmas present from DH so I may not get it until then.

Yes he did! Thank you all! I am so excited to get this in my hands it is just killing me!

I have not had any jewelry in platinum before but I thought this style of vintage ring needed to be in platinum. I am thrilled it will become an heirloom in my family to hand down for generations.

DH says I can look at it when it comes but no pics until Christmas!

I did. We made some changes to fit my lifestyle and likes better and mine is smaller as these are almost half carat stones around the outside of the center diamond.

It came! It came! I was very sneaky since DH is gone and took two crappy pics to tide us over until I can do a proper photoshoot on Christmas. I just love it!

The overall size is just right without being too ginormous. The detail is so amazing and the color of the sapphire is absolutely perfect!!!! It does not get too dark inside and the cut is so flashy! My shots are in the sun and the one is kinda blurry. I will wear it on my middle right hand finger but you get the idea. Oh this turned out so excellent and I cannot believe I actually have it! Now I have to put it away and just dream about it until Christmas - or come here and stare at the pics.

Took one with my vintage Art Deco diamond watch.

My DH let me open it early today! He totally gets me.

The close-ups in the light box do not show the faceting of the stone but the one perspective shot is what I see when I look at it on my hand. This is so beautiful! I see that I did not really get a pic of the engraving that goes all the way around but will take some more. The light box also hides the sparkly of the OECs but they are so pretty!
