It’s not like I buy rings all the time but it so happened that my regular jeweller have new ring settings from his casings supplier and if the (loose) gem fits...

So that’s 4 of them along with 2 preloved and another that I bought ready made online. And that makes 7 rings that I set, received and/or resized in the past week. o_O As for the panda, I’ll go into that a little later...

But anyway I always like to see pics of the said item when I open threads so here they are. Not doing any slow reveal or anything. But will need a bit more time to post each of them one by one later.

8C996F93-E978-4428-A0D7-22FCFF2E040E.jpeg

Top from left to right: Peruvian opal, spinel, zircon, jadeite
Bottom: neon tourmaline, yellow tourmaline, parti-coloured tourmaline
(Yeah I like blue gems, and big rings, and halos...)

All pics taken with iPhone which seems to amp up blues and intensify the color a bit. Some of the gems also seem to confuse the phone and gives my skin a greyish tone so really not so easy to take photos (appreciating those PS-ers with mad photography skills)

I’ll start with the opal since I just wore it yesterday and already have pics. It’s a 4.86 ct Peruvian blue opal (10x12x6mm) that I got from a fellow PS-er (@marymm) earlier this year. When I put the opal in the current setting, it was like a ‘woah’ moment. Love them both individually and even more together.

Posted the ring earlier in the CS forum and was told it’s caribbean blue. Before that was struggling in the color and my colleague and I thought Tiffany blue hence this pic:

And then I looked up Caribbean blue as well:

On the hand
FE7D9AFF-9EC1-4BE7-8F9F-97451941EF89.jpeg

It looks darker and less opaque out of the sun. Same position but varying amounts of natural light:

Simply fabulous babe. I saw some of your new rings crop up on the CS forum and was a bit indignant we didn't get the full scoop so I'm super excited.

This is going to be awesome:kiss2:

Next up is the indicolite / blue tourmaline that was described as a ‘neon blue tourmaline’. 8.6mm, 3.61 ct from Oyo mine (Nigeria - I think).

Thanks to @lovedogs for posting and sharing the stone on the Somebody's Gotta Buy This Stone! thread in the CS forum earlier this year

Vendor pic:

Loose:

And set:

Ready made setting via my regular jeweller, from his Hong Kong casings supplier.

It really does have neon flashes in some lighting can can be quite mesmerizing. I collected 6 rings from my jeweller at the same time and this was his and one of the casings supplier’s fave so that says something I think.

Hahaha not much of a scoop dear. I was hesitant to post initially but figured why not since they give me such joy (I mean, look at all the colors!), and I do so enjoy looking at stuff that other folks post too. Panda is diamond so should be here vs CS forum I guess? Plus might sneak in my pretty new earring jackets too.

i would love to see more pics and get more info on the ring with the red stone! i love the setting.

Ok let me see what I can find... really don’t have much info about it...

i would love to see more pics and get more info on the ring with the red stone! i love the setting.

The ring was sold to me as a spinel (not sure from where). The engraving on the ring states 1.34 ct, 0.3 ct so presumably the spinel is 1.34 ct and diamonds for the setting is 0.3 ct. It’s a preloved ring so that’s all I know unfortunately.

I got it as it’s so pretty but along side the other rings, it’s a tad on the small side. Even my colleagues commented on that.

A few more pics:

Next is a special ring simply as it’s the first ring that my daughter (3.5 yo) actually reserved for when she is older. The first time she saw it she asked ‘mama next time when I’m a big girl you give me and I wear ok?’. When I asked why she liked the ring, she said ‘because got rainbow. It’s so nice. I like it very much’. Anyway both my kids call it the rainbow ring.

Preloved 6.57 ct parti-coloured tourmaline, in platinum setting with 0.2 ct diamonds. Approx 12.6x8.3 mm step cut. It actually has a huge window but I’m surprisingly ok with the window as it doesn’t bother me once I have it on the finger.

Whoops... pls excuse the finger prints...

Ok, 3 more to go...

And forgot to mention the ring settings...
- indicolite - 18k with 72 round diamonds 0.703 ct, and 2 pear 0.193 ct indicated as for 7x9mm
- Peruvian opal - 18k with 54 RD 0.502 ct and 6 marquise 0.188 ct indicated for 14.2x11.3mm
Added the indicative sizes for the settings in case it helps anyone.

So the rainbow ring is my daughter’s fav, and this next ring is my son’s fav as it looks like a flower. Yup, it’s the yellow tourmaline with the huge flowery halo with 96 RD 0.59 ct, 18k.

The tourmaline is 2.97 ct measuring 9.39 x 7.98 x 5.89, and fitted nicely into a 10x8 standard setting.

Vendor pic:
DFD5D155-B386-422E-B5ED-D3164A7204A1.jpeg

And mine - it’s a tad more yellowish irl but can’t seem to get the color right.

6F7F2D92-0FFC-41AF-9902-E6AE27A6BF48.jpeg

I was just ok with the setting and was surprised as my colleagues were quite taken with the setting. Maybe will grow to love it more? I do like the big halo haha. Upsize everything!

Ok last set of pics for now... until I can post about the panda...

Burmese purple jadeite cab ring 1.5 x 1.35 x 0.7 cm, in 18K 0.215 ct setting from the vendor

Love the purple-ness and super high dome. Halo is rather plain but ok for the price I can live with it. ::)

And that kinda concludes the new rings for now. Which is your favorite? I had them all displayed on my bathroom counter for a few days and honestly they are so colorful I really feel quite happy just looking at them. :kiss2:

Hope you enjoyed looking at the pics too. =)2

Thanks! I love bicolor/multi/parti color stones too. Tourmalines are a much more affordable alternative to sapphires... I’m still looking out for nice ametrines.

And yeah, totally agree that the bigger the better. As I get older I need bigger gems lol.

Thank you. So nice of you to say that :kiss2:

What yellow stone are you looking for/at?

One of my colleagues commented that a yellow diamond that size would be incredibly expensive. I’m still looking for stones in other yellow tones but this one has mostly scratched my ‘yellow stone’ itch for now.

ha! I woud LOVE a huge yellow diamond, but I just upgraded by engagement ring from 1.66 to 2.95 ACA MRB, THAT is it for me. I would like a yellow sapphire and maybe once my hubster gets over his WTF on what we paid for the new diamond :) then I will press on for a yellow stone.

Again, your rings are beautiful, I love the NEON zircon, I'm a Dec bday girl and bue zircon is my birthstone and yours is PERFECT.

:love::love:

Beautiful collection!! You did a great job picking out settings for the stones. I can’t pick a fav as I am partial to blues and tourmalines, and the spinel is small but mighty. Like you, I would wear them all!

How exciting! My faves are the zircon ( the shape is fab, too) and the tourmaline is stunning :cheeky:! I favor blue gems myself. I bet it was thrilling to have so many new items at once!

Such beautiful colors and fun rings! I could dive right into some of those blue stones. Definitely the Caribbean colors!
Love the yellow in the flower ring. Reminds me of a sunflower! Enjoy your new rings!
