Just a little update......I received the stone as promised the other day and it was absolutely stunning. I didn't realize a diamond could have that much "life", sparkle, and color. It made the 1.09 look (literally) like a piece of glass. It exceeded my expectations in everything but color. It is a "J", and although not too noticeable face up, a yellow tint was quite evident from the side view. It probably wouldn't have been too noticeable once set in the yellow gold setting, but it was there and it was bothering me.

I started perusing through the GOG website under "New stones being scanned" and came across a winner- perfect. I drove 90 minutes to personally see the stone at GOG and it was "the one". Just as much life as the "J", but the "H" color made the difference for me. Comparing the two it was easy to see the yellow tint on the "J", while the "H" looked colorless with amazing fire and brilliance. Now I was very happy! I traded in the J for the H with no questions asked. I didn't get a chance to speak with Jonathan at the store as he was not there, but his staff took very good care of me. So the new stone is slightly smaller (only noticeable from the side view, not face up), more money, slightly better HCA (0.7 versus 0.9), and much better in lack of color. The new stone is absolutely killer, check out the specs below. Now I just have to bring GOG my 1.09 so they can send it out to be made into a "real" diamond. Thanks again for everyone's help and have a Happy and Safe New Year!

Sounds like you made out like a bandit, Glad.

Be sure and let us know how the 1.09 turns out.

Thanks and will do Rich. I thought the price on the 1.43 was excellent. I compared a few other sites, and there is a 1.41 H&A, VS1, color D for $13,000. Granted it is a D, but all in all, the 1.43 is quite a stone for the money. Glad I found it before someone else snagged it!

Here is a 1.15 carat just to compare prices:
