4 ct Colombian Emerald Certified with Insignificant Clarity Treatment Pricing

Hi All,

What's a reasonable price for a 4 ct Colombian no/ insignificant treatment stone like this one?

I have not seen it in person yet. I am told that it is a bit more bluish green in person.

@lulu_ma @mellowyellowgirl this color is very close. It was a bit more neon (but that could have been lighting/photography). It was very clear/had a lot of “crystal”

No way to know, imo. The appeal of untreated emerald is like the appeal of unheated sapphire -- it's only a "feature" when it's an attractive stone; otherwise it's a "bug." That one is so included (in that cropped view) that I can barely see the pavilion. I think no-oil is a gimmick at this quality level. I'd much rather have an F1 than that. (And F1 is as high as I'd go.)

ETA: Maybe I'm just cranky for some reason

Ooh, there have been stories of dealers actually removing the oil, getting a cert and then re-oiling the stones. Sigh… continue the search! It will be educational and fun

Not really searching for an emerald…just got an opportunity to acquire a pretty ring with this emerald. I’m just trying to determine if it’s a good buy since I’m a colored gem noob.

Are the photos of the same Emerald, as the one in the original post does not have chopped corners whereas the Emerald in the purchased ring has.
