3 stone proportions but with pear sides?

I have a 3 stone setting I’ll probably repurpose. It held an approx 7 mm diamond and the pears are about 0.86 ctw. I was told the sides were too large for the center.

What size round center would look more proportional? Per the appraisal the diamonds are 5.7 x 3.88 mm.

Or what else can I do with the side diamond? I got a quote for a 5 stone from a beloved PS vendor but even with me providing 2 stones it was $6k (which I don’t think is worth it).

I’d like to repurpose the diamonds if I still have it by Feb/ March of next year.

put a colored stone (semi-precious) where the center (round) diamond was provided the empty space can hold a larger stone..

I love Pear Side Diamonds!!!
If you post a pic of the setting, maybe folks will be able to give better suggestions....

It can do a stone similar in size so I figured I’d just have it remade.

Here’s my ring. I was thinking maybe a champagne diamond to keep it affordable? But I’m not 100% yet.

Side view please?

IN general- I find that pear shapes are super versatile as sides, in terms of the size of the center.
They look pretty generous for the existing center- yet still in proportion.
You could easily put a center stone twice the size between those two and still have nice proportion IMO

I had 8-8.5 mm in mind. Do you think that’s still too small? I may have to go the gemstone route if so...

I see....if you plan on reusing the setting, the stone will need to fit- the setting won't allow changing the center stone head, from what I can see......
I think the pears will look amazing with 8-8.5mm if you're changing the setting.....

Yeah, I’d have to remake it. I’m not a fan of the side view anymore so I’m fine with that.

I also thought maybe I could put a rose cut round in it. Think that’d look weird given the pears aren’t also rose cuts?

I think the thing that made the pears look "too big" is that they go nearly straight out rather than angling sharply down. If they angle sharply down, they'd be fine with a 7mm center stone. It's not the width of the pears but the length that is overpowering the center stone imo. 8mm would be fine even with them flat out like that. Also remember if you get a colored stone, it will "pop" against the pears and they'll kind of recede, which white diamonds (or lighter colored stones) don't do.

I could angle down too. I saw one somewhere that was like that and it was very pretty!

I am looking for an affordable pair of pears to create a bow-tie ring. If you decide to let them go at a good price tag me!

I’ve had them listed in the sale section but I’m not sure the price would be good if you just want them for the pears. I’ll tag you.

I saw a lavender spinel on Reddit and inquired about having one cut but I’m liking that blue...

I could be wrong (maybe ask in the CS forum), but I think a darker stone will create more contrast from the diamonds, and ‘tone down’ how big they look compared to the center.

I like the ring as it is! I would plunk a colored gem in the current mount, wear and enjoy!
