Here's the deal: final revised CAD's came back.

My issue is the height of the sides vs the center. Thinking the sides are too low, would like the girdles to be closer, with the sides just ever so slightly tucked under.

Question to the board: is this just too small of a detail for me to worry about? How much does it REALLY matter visually in the final product? I keep going through the 3 stone threads, then back to the Tiffany profile, which is what I like. Am I concerning myself over a design detail that will not replicate any noticeable difference in the actual ring? In other words, stop driving the design team crazy?

Would love to hear from others. Here's the Tiffany profile then my CADs:

I can't comment on another vendor's product, but I can tell you that if something bothers you in the CAD, it will bug you in real life. The benefit of CAD is that you can intercept these types of problems before the ring is put into production, tweak it to your liking, and be assured of having a finished product that makes you happy every time you look at it.

Thank you ericad, am in the creative business myself, (not jewelry) & can accept that detail being present in the final product.

My main concern, was: does this detail make a huge difference in the final product visually. Main concern is from the top down. How much affect does this minor height issue have on the visual presentation?

For instance, take the Tiffany vs the CAD. How much of a difference will the height make in the top down view, or is this splitting hairs?

Thoughts?

When I look back and forth between the Tiffany and your ring, to me the relation of the center to sides is identical in your ring and the tiffny! I think the difference you may be seeing is an optical illusion because of the different baskets and cathedral areas between your ring and the Tiffany ring. I like yours much better and think it looks so much more fluid than the Tiffany! Your sides may be a smidge more angled than the Tiffany, but I like that and I also think it won't be that noticable in real life. But, this is not the type of detail I would obsess over, not maybe my opinion is not helpful.

I think your CAD looks amazing and the ring will be mind blowing.

In order to have the sides tucked under a bit, I'm not sure the girdles can be much closer together. I too like the proportions of your CAD - I think it will be beautiful!

Thank you experienced members for chiming in! :appl: :wavey:

MGR, Dreamer & ericad--I feel 'better' that your eyes don't perceive the issue as mine. Even though we are talking a minor minor degree here, I was just concerned the sides may be positioned too low & ultimately affect the outcome/top down view.

Thank you all again--sarahb

Sarah, what are the sizes of the center and the side stones?

MGR,

The center is a 1.61 & the sides are .8 & .9.

Center is 7.51, sides are 5.9 & 6.1.

The CAD looks great! Gorgeous trellis, much more flowing and swoopy than the Tiffany. Just beautiful!

I think the CADs look great, too! When I look at the top view, the side diamonds are tucked slightly under the center stone. It looks just right for that kind of setting to me. I don't think the Tiffany is the best comparison since the setting is different.

Thank you Bonfire & DS, I'm going to give them the green light to proceed this morning. I appreciate having the feedback from all of you!

Will the size difference in the sies bug you?

Andelain,

I hope not! I don't think they would of recommended them if they were to pose an issue. I'm confident WF would take care of it if it were a problem.

I just didn't think that small of a difference will be noticeable.

On my eternity, I have .50's up to .53's, I can't tell a bit of difference from one to the next.

We'll know as soon as it gets here--it may be--due to just having 2, as sides!!

I follow you & your tours, as I grew up in a military family (father for 34 yrs), & have a sibling now in the JAG reserve--USAF--I loved the life! Thank You for your service!!

I'm late to the party but I agree with everyone that it looks great. And 3 stones are tricky to get right. Can't wait to see the finished ring.

There's nothing wrong with the CADs. They seem good to me. I wouldn't let Tiffany bother me after looking at that kind of setting and the CADs.
