While I still love my 1.17 carat asscher engagement ring...diamond shrinking syndrome set in a LONG time ago! Rather than upgrade my asscher, I''ve decided to get a RB from Brian Gavin that I plan to upgrade a few times until I''m in the 2.5 carat range (blast my size 6.25 finger!).

These are the 3 stones that I was deciding between...any guesses as to the carat and/or color?

Let''s try this again!

i'll probably be completely off,
but the far Right a G maybe? 1.2carat?
middle H somewhere in between
Far Left J? 1.5 carat ish?

lol... again, I can't tell though, but really beautiful!

Are these his signature H&A diamonds ?

In the far away picture, can't distinguish any colors; however, in the close-up the far right looks a bit more icy (so I will guess F-D). As for the far left and middle, they look exactly the same to me.

Regarding carats: 1.5, 1.25, .9

Yes, these are all Brian''s signature H&A stones....

From left to right...1.738 K VS2, 1.705 J VS2 and 1.53 G SI2

The K has medium blue flourescence and it''s got my name on it

, since I know that I''m going to upgrade this stone at some point, I''m going to see how I like warmer colors. Based on the pictures, I really like it so far! Here is the IS and ASSET...

And the AGS cert.....

Beautiful stone you''ve found yourself there!

What are your plans for your original asscher?

Very cool pictures, and the K looks fab!! From the pic, the G actually looks warmer to me. It would be interesting to see the same pic in different lighting.

Thanks mscushion...no plans for the asscher, it''s going to stay in its original Tacori setting and I''ll have 2 beautiful engagement rings to alternate.

Thank you...I was pleasantly surprised with the pictures, I thought the K would waaaayyyy warmer than the G, it is noticeable to me - but not in a bad way. I wonder if the flourescence is helping it face up a little whiter?

Lesley is going to send me a picture of the K on its own along with the hearts image, I''ll post those when I have them.

Great guesses D&T!

Gorgeous stones, and a great choice, Diana. The color difference is so subtle, even in these blown-up images--though I like a little warmth in a stone anyhow. I'm getting a 1.706 I VS2 from BGD later this week (thread) and hope to propose and have pics to post just ahead of the long weekend. It looks like you really can't go wrong with a BGD stone! Do you know the setting you're going to go with?

P.S. - please most more photos when you get a chance!

Hey Jason...you must be getting excited, hey?

I''m pretty confident that BGD wouldn''t sell a stone that Lesley wouldn''t wear herself, we''re in good hands!

I love the Truth setting and was thinking of that one myself but, since this isn''t an engagement ring...more like a gift to myself, I thought I''d try something different. I love Coati''s James Meyer setting and was thinking of modifying it a little...like this....

Yes, I think we''re in pretty good hands

. I love the idea of the bezel setting, and your modifications should look great, especially executed by BGD. Your diamond in that setting is going to look HUGE!

I was going to guess the far left was a K! LOL! You can see the warmth but it look yummo!

I have a 1.17ct K, and I did a thread a while back comparing it to an F color diamond in different lighting. You may find this interesting as you anticipate receiving your own K: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/photographic-death-match-f-versus-k.116295/

I want to really encourage you to live with you K for a while before you make your judgement about its color. When I first got mine I noticed the warmth a lot... I think I was really looking for it! Now after a few months I never see warmth and only see bright white. I adore it and honestly, will probably get another K when I upgrade again in a few years -- probably to around the size you are getting!

Terrific thread, Dreamer. Thanks for reminding me of it! I have to remember to link to it next time someone asks about color differences.

FUN thread, and GORGEOUS diamonds from BGD!!!

BTW, what is the size of the diamond in the ring that is on the finger in the photo above, do you know?

Coati''s diamond is a 1.85 ct K VS1:

I can attest to the J VS2, having viewed it extensively, it is a gorgeous stone, sparkles like crazy and has very little body color. If I had an extra 10+ to spend on
yet another diamond, I would bring that baby home.

Thanks for your post DD - it was yours and Coati''s threads that made me want the K in the first place....I know I''ll go bigger but I don''t know whether I''ll go whiter or not!

Did you happen to see any of the K''s by any chance? I would sure love to go to BGD in person but it''s probably better for my wallet that I don''t!

And here are the hearts and arrow images....look at that fiery warmth...love it!

One more for you Jason...Lesley sent this at about 9pm PST...she is a work horse! She said the stone faces up a lot whiter than it appears in the photos...this is a fiery stone to be sure!

Diana,

This is such a cool photo! I kept glancing at it all morning on my iPhone, but didn''t have time to respond. I''m looking forward to seeing images of your actual ring when it''s done.

Yes, Lesley is superhuman. Judging by when she mailed me images of Alicia''s ring last night, she was up until at least 4! (my thread).

Gorgeous stone!

Love the comparison shots. So interesting. Can''t wait to see the final product.

wowwy!
