Hi y'all! I've been around the block a bit purchasing and returning stones the last year hoping to find something for my 15th anniversary. I bought (and kept) a 5.04 Dolly from Alex Park but it never felt like the right stone for this ring. Plus my husband would die at the size of it  (I'll probably make it a gypsy set RHR). Then there were the asschers and emeralds, none of which really did it for me. Old mine cuts are my favorite but difficult to find the style I like in LGD, so I started looking at OECs. I wanted borderline checkerboard and not flowery, where the inner facets take turns turning off and on. Not all off/on at once. This diamond ticks all those boxes but I would appreciate it if others weighed in. It has been difficult keeping it clean and taking good pictures, so apologies for the smudges. The crystal appears very clean. The spin video link has been taken down but maybe someone knows another resource that would have it.

I like the cut. It’s not authentic to how old cuts typically look — the proportions are just slightly off — but the pattern is pretty and u bet it’s sparkly.

Thank you for your feedback! I'm ok with it not being a true OEC antique cut but it's similar enough and the pattern is just right to make me happy :)

Then the answer is yes its a keeper.
Its a very interesting stone and someday I would love to play with one cut similar.
It kinda mixes a lot of different eras main/crown angles like a 40/40 cut but larger more modern table, lowers on the longer side of oec but too short for modern and a med culet from the mid 1900s.
Its kewl!
Its kinda like someone said lets have fun today!

Thanks, Karl! I agree that it's kewl and a keeper! I wonder how they come up with these formulas? Maybe not being too concerned about saving weight gives the cutter more creative freedom. Appreciate your input on all my purchases lately.
