3.06, G, SI1, 3EX, possible shallow stone question

Long time lurker, first time poster...

I think that I have found a stone that I like, but I am wondering what the forum's consensus is re: the specs.

Things that stuck out to me immediately are the table and total depth %, as well as the girdle possibly being too thin. Thoughts? Is this too shallow? I am looking to do a 4 prong setting, but should I go with a 6 prong on this stone to protect the girdle a bit more?

That is what is known as a 60/60.
Its a bit different look than the usual ideal/near tolk cuts and can be very pretty.
The angle combination could be near perfect for one if the numbers are spot on.
However GIA badly rounds the numbers so it is hard to say.
It also does not tell you anything about the optical symmetry of the stone. ie, how well the facets of the stone align optically.

Have you talked to the vendor about it being eyeclean?
Have any images?

Thank you for the quick reply. I've seen it in person and it was eye clean. With a loupe it looked pretty decent too. I don't have any images, and I haven't looked at it through an ideal scope. My eye isn't trained enough to be able pick up on some of the potentially less obvious flaws.

Sounds good so far.
With the limited information all I can really say it has potential.
Look at it in as many lighting conditions as possible and if possible compare it to others.

That's very unusual.

Like Karl said, the next step is to get an Idealscope pic, or buy an idealscope and examine it yourself.

The reason for the Idealscope, is the Crown and Pavilion angles entered into the HCA are averages.
A round diamond is not perfectly round, it has 8 sides so it has 8 crown angles and 8 pavilion angles.
The angles on the lab report are the AVERAGE of those 8 angles.
They could all be the same, which is good.
Or some could be very high and some very low but average out to a nice number, which is bad.
An Idealscope would reveal this.
