I love them in silver! I think it’s the yellow gold that makes them look like 1980. I’m actually pulling out all my yellow gold jewelry and wearing them again..What goes out goes back in again at some point..but I’m with you..I wear what I like..
I was gifted my great great aunt's huge marquise jade( low grade) surrounded in small pearls set in 14k gold that I rock in my middle finger for special occasions. O am sure it looks dated, especially since I am only 33 yrs old.
It would look dated on me because I’m much older..On you it would look vintage..and in style..I would love to see a photo of it!
Maybe I will post in vintage or CS forum? I am not sure the date of manufacture. I haven't wanted to since it's not great Jade, like some show stopping peices I have seen here.

here are some pics of the ring plus dry old lady boy's looking hands:roll. After I got it sized 8 yrs ago, I noticed the pearls look misalainged. There seems to be some glue between two of them as well. my new local jeweler said he will switch two perls around since they are different sizes and get rid of the glue or ehatever is stuck. I know at least one pearl was replaced when my grandma wore it.
I love it! It’s so pretty! I love that it was a gift from your great great aunt. That’s the best kind of jewelry..I only have a simple yellow gold band from my grandma. It’s a size 8 and I wear a 6.25. I never met her but it means a lot to me.
Thank you. I dont remember meeting her since she passed of cancer when I was a toddler. It is meaningful to me though since she was close to my dad. I was a twin and microprieme. My twin did not make it past two months and my great-great aunt paid for a resting place for her ashes. I like wearing this ring to family gatherings since at least my grandma,dad, and great aunts recognize it.
Omg..It has such a meaningful memory..How wonderful for you to wear it when you are with your family.
