Hey all. I posted a few days ago but think it got lost in the transition, as searching for my original post yields nada.
So. I am looking to reset a yummy warm M color modern round brilliant stone for a right hand ring. The current setting is a simple yellow gold Tiffany-style which no longer suits my purpose.
Last Saturday I tried on a few rings, and to my surprise really like the halo look on my hand. Am going for something blingy, but not cocktail-ish as I want to wear it every day. Leaning towards a cushion-shaped double halo and split shank.
The out-of-state jeweler from whom I originally bought the diamond has done a CAD based on a lot of emailing back and forth, which is attached. The price tag is just under $2500. This one is a single halo.
The jeweler I visited Saturday found the double halo, split shank Henri Daussi I went nuts over would only be $3100. The HD setting is soooo drool-worthy, and felt very nice on my hand.
Finally, I've seen a few settings on the James Allen website which also appeal and frankly are a bit more within budget. I just got divorced so funds are unfortunately a major factor here, and I do realize that to many the price differences are negligible, but this is my present reality.
Here is the JA setting which struck me:

Any feedback would be most welcome.
