I see this 2.59 carat RB diamond on Bluenile offered for just $38,201 but after their 4% Pricescope discount just makes it $36,672. I contacted my local jeweler to check out the diamond, and he claims that the diamond has a brown tint to it because it comes from a cheaper Marange brown rough. Attached is the cert. What do you guys think? It is cheaper than any other diamond in the market for its specs.

I think your jeweler is full of BS. If it is a GIA graded F, any tint will be so slight that you will never notice it.

LOL at your jeweler, what a silly thing to tell you. How can he pretend to know where the rough was sourced? Did he tell you how he has that information?

And besides, F color means there is so little body tint it makes no difference what the color is

The medium fluor would affect pricing.

I did not know that BN offers PS discount..

Have to agree with others - no way he can tell you where the rough was sourced. That's a new one on me!

Did you verify the BN discount? I made a purchase a few months ago and was told it was no longer being offered.

Since GIA does not mention about brown tint, how can local Jeweler determine that stone is brown?

One thing is for certain, the price on that stone is suspiciously low. Either you have found a rare great deal, or there is a pricing error, or there is something else wrong! I'd have a PS vendor such as Good Old Gold call it in for you and they can run the tests on it.

Tell your jeweler I, TitanCi, PERSONALLY mined that diamond so I know it's not from cheap rough.

GIA is independent and reputable while the jeweller may want to sell you his/her diamonds so there's no reason not to trust GIA.

I was like...SAY WHAT? tinted brown ???? an GIA F VS1 with medium blue fluorescence? I don't think so, LOL! Get an ASET image and if its good and you like the stone...might be awesome...I love blue fl. in a stone (as long as it is not milky or oily from the fl.)
