Arrived today and I’m just amazed at how beautiful it is. I’m not color sensitive but was a little wary about the image on the website looking distinctly yellow toned. @Rhino kindly showed me an additional video and it looked white. If anything, in real life I see a slightly rosy tone. Whatever! Rosy, yellowish, whitish, all I know is it’s breathtaking in real life and I’m just in love with the cut. My photos, of course, don’t do it justice.

now some color comparisons for those interested in that....
Two Js, the one on the left has faint fluorescence:

The last picture has a YZ off to the side. Anyway, I’m beyond amazed at this stone and I look forward to seeing what else August Vintage will be coming out with in the man made stones!

Gorgeous. What’s the stat on your cushion if you don’t mind as I am also looking at this cut.

Well it looks absolutely lovely! Congratulations on such a fantastic stone, the tint isn't really that noticeable and really does make it look like an antique. <3

Omg you're the lucky soul who got this! <3 i've had my eye on this particular stone for FOREVER, but didn't have the money. Do you notice any strata or grow lines in the diamond?
it's so stunning, how do you want to set it?

I somehow missed Sprinkles’ comment but I will look for stria when I get home from work!
As for the setting, I’m definitely putting a migraines bezel on it but that’s as far as I’ve gotten. I love bezels and I want to emphasize the cushion shape. Probably set in platinum as it seems the price is less than gold currently. I do love three stone settings but I don’t think I have the patience to wait and save up for/buy additional stones. I wanna wear it now!

well, no stria noted on examination. There is a margin of error for my middle aged eyes however!
it gets prettier every time I look at it.

@BrownGinger Sooo ... what are you planning to do with it? ;-)

Gosh, it’s such a debate for me! All I know for sure is it will be bezeled to emphasize the shape.
I’ve always loved the airline halo that msop04 used to have:

And then from searching cushions on pricescope I came across carbonfan’s stunning ring:

However, VC apparently doesn’t make this ring using outside stones unfortunately. So in order to not copy, I was thinking about something similar to a detail on my great aunt’s ring (see circled area on picture) in place of the French cuts on the VC ring.

Then on the other hand, I’ve always loved a sapphire or emerald target ring:
633A76C2-0982-4B7C-AE74-2CF42898E754.jpeg
Then last but not least, a simple milgrained bezel. I don’t know the owner of this one unfortunately, I had just taken a quick screenshot.

my wallet would like that one the best but I’m neither married nor engaged and that one seems the most engagement-like to me.

if anybody would like to give their two cents, I’d love to hear opinions!

I love the setting with the emeralds halo. I think it would complement the color in your diamond, and I just love colored gemstone halos with diamonds. Just a preference on my part.

I'm with @AnastasiaBeaverhausen - the simple bezel is so lovely, and lets the incredible faceting and warmth of the stone be the star of the show while still framing and complementing it. I wouldn't worry at all about not being married or engaged - you could wear it on your right hand, and and people are more and more choosing engagement rings that look different from what it is considered traditional, so there is less "association" with type of rings then there used to be. I know I don't assume anything about a ring unless I see it on the left-hand ring finger, regardless of what the style of the ring is.

Just stopped in to say - you got a beautiful stone! The faceting and proportions are marvelous. I like the VC French cut halo and classic bezel the best personally! Both will be very wearable but it depends on how “blingy” you are

I haven’t actually! I just take it out and gaze at it like a psycho :) Every so often. It got put on the back burner because I had a chance to have a ring made (using a lab created diamond) that had been one of my top favorites of all time so I put the funds there instead. I’m still undecided about how I’ll set the cushion though it will probably end up as a simple bezel.
