Hello All,

May I first say what a wonderful forum this place is. Such a great resource, with wonderful people!

Secondly, I have fallen in love with this 1920s 1.01 carat asscher ring by Tiffany and Co: https://se.pinterest.com/pin/568579521681797774/

Now I cant get this exact ring but I've found a wonderful goldsmiths who can make it for me. The problem - well maybe not problem - but the next step is the diamond.

I found this one on James Allen: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/asscher-cut/1.01-carat-e-color-vs1-clarity-sku-35915

Any comments or thoughts would be most welcome.

Many thanks.

First I would say that that setting is deceptively simple so make sure the bench you're using to create this ring knows what they are doing. Ask them to show you elements of the ring they have completed before

A few people here have had that ring copied.

Thanks for the advice, Niel. I have never used them before but they came highly recommended. I will ask.

Any comments on the stone?

I agree with you 100%. That last one is lovely. Really draws you in.

I actually have it bookmarked because I'm going to have this setting made for a colored stone RHR one day! :naughty:

OP, I would truly save yourself the heartache and just have Brilliantly Engaged (formerly ERD) make this setting as they've already proven they are capable.

Wow. Just finished. What a journey. Not sure I have the stomach for that to be honest. Happy it worked out for them in the end though.

This is why I'd go with someone who's already made the ring before

Yep. Many thanks for yours and liaerfbv assistance on this. I'm sure the forum doesn't need another epic Asscher/Tiffany thread so I'll leave it here.

I am fairly sure that ring was eventually sold. Long difficult story.

I also have that setting saved. Brilliant Earth makes a repro of that setting. I actually like it more with an antique round, but they also make it for an asscher. I am not sure if they set outside stones, though. But you might like having more pictures before having one custom made.

I really like that one as well but you would have to be willing to get a round and pay the premium for their stones. Which isn't the end of the world IMHO
