#JOTW 1.62 Burma Ruby Ring Unheated 18k YG

1.62 ct of unheated, juicy glow! My most favourite ring I own. I have had this baby for about a year and was just never ready to post it on PS! The pics never did it justice and still don't and my vid isn't loading. It is so special to me and the pinkish, purplish colour is my favourite in rubies! It has a killer glow and fluorescence. It came from Gran Gem on Etsy and the ring was made by his brother Whitehouse Brothers. The stone came from an old Victorian ring. 18k yellow gold and diamonds. I have included the GIA cert too. Mike from Gran Gem said it was a magical stone and I would have to agree! It always looks like something is alive inside it.

Yes such a fantastic glow! And to me it is more pinkish red but I know gia says purplish. Or maybe I would call it a really deep pink! I have realized how I much prefer sapphires over spinels!

My ex-husband (21 years and 2 kids) had the nickname of zippy the wonder slug in college! I wasn’t the first mrszippy so had to use the 1 instead of i. This was in the early 1990s when the web was new and I started using forums.

I agree - something about sapphires is a bit richer. Spinels are pretty and sparkly, but sapphires have more oomph to me and I can’t really explain it beyond that!

We must be around the same age! I starter using forums then too! Next year will be our 20 year anniversary. 3 kids, and 2 are taller than me now!
