hi,

I am considering purchasing a 1.5 tcw 5 stone ring or a 2.0 tcw 5 stone.

My question is, which would be more proportional for my size 4 finger? I love the look of larger diamonds, but if the ring hangs over on the sides and I can't close my hand - it won't be comfortable and it also won't look right. Because my finger size is small, will the 1.5 tcw look larger?

Here are some examples of diff. carat weights on diff. size fingers.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

my wife wears a 4.75 ring her 1.27ct 5 stone looks big on her finger.

I just got a five stone ring with total carat weight of 1 carat and size 4.75. It provides full top finger coverage. I think a 2 carat total weight ring would be too big for your size 4 finger. 1.5 carat could be fine , but I still think it might be too big. But this is just my opinion.

the five stone ring in my avatar is 1.5 carats on a size 6 finger, I suspect 2 carats would potrude past the edges of your smaller finger

I have a size 7 finger and my 1.25 covers the top quite nicely. I could probably go up to 2 ct, but that would completely max out my finger realestate. I think 1.5 or smaller will be huge and definitely completely cover the top pf your fnger, it may protrude some from the sides....can you try some on to get a sense, or do what I did

cut the little diamonds out of sizing charts and tape them to your fingers...

I wouldn''t judge by anyone else''s size 4, as the shape of your finger matters as well.
Bella_mezzo said on her size 7, a 1.25 covers the top nicely. On my size 7, a 1.25tcw looks too small and does not cover the top.

Elle is right, It also depends on the setting, the mm of the stones, what you consider "top coverage", and your actual finger. Mine are short and really are a 6.75 but I don''t like tight rings. I really think it''s best if you try some on and see what you think.
