We also had a few diamond experts help us out that we found online and through this site as well.
My question is if we got a decent deal for the price. We chose a 1.5 round I SI2 ex/ex/ex with great HCA score and idealscope image, and the inclusions are clear and I can only see them with my loupe, and they are under a prong anyway. We went through James Allen and with the setting and a discount we paid 7400. Sometimes my diamond doesn’t seem sparkly which I know can be normal depending on lighting, but I swear hours after I clean it, it seems like it’s less brilliant and the flashes aren’t there any longer. I do have 2 kids and always cleaning up messes so I’m sure that doesn’t help. Just wondering what you think with the attachments. I have never had a diamond nor really spent much time in jewelry stores, so although I knew about the proportions to look for (which I know could have been a little better) I don’t know want to expect re: sparkliness lol.

It certainly looks like a good deal.

Sounds like you got a great deal! An eyeclean si2 with great light return and proportions. How do you like it when it's freshly cleaned? Diamonds pick up grime very easily

I actually love it otherwise! For an I it honestly looks so white and clear. After doing a lot of research on here, we chose a diamond with medium blue fluorescence to try to make the I look whiter, and it certainly worked.
I never knew diamonds picked up dirt easily, I’ll have to look into some diamond/jewelry cleaner I suppose! Thanks!

All you need is a soft tooth brush and the original Dawn dish soap. Put a dab on the brush with hot water and clean all angles. Then rinse well. Dry with a soft cloth.

I take one minute before my shower to do this each morning and the difference is very noticeable.

Good to know, thanks!!

It's beautiful. They did a really nice job on the prongs too.

Beautiful! Diamonds are little grease magnets. You have to clean your ring often or it builds up and suddenly you have a bleh diamond. Lots of info out there on how to do this.

Thanks! At first I thought the prongs were a bit crooked, but I realized it was a reflection playing with my eyes lol

That seems like a really great deal. What does the certificate say about the clarity? Does it say anything about clouds? If not, it's probably just losing sparkle due to lighting. My superideal cut diamond doesn't sparkle in my kitchen with overhead lighting

No clouds! I almost bought one with clouds but was afraid to take the chance without seeing it in person. It does have a feather, which is the reason for the SI2 grading, but I’ve had it checked and told it doesn’t impact the brilliance or scintillation at all.
The diamond itself was 7300, but there were so many 1.5s to choose from that were 5k-30k, makes it so confusing!
