hi everyone,

I think I've finally narrowed my search down to 2 stones, and I was hoping this wonderful community could help me decided between the two:

1.26 FSI1 ACA:

OR

1.21 GSI1 ACA:

I've purchased the 'FSI1' (after lots of stomach-churning), but am having trouble wondering if it's a higher quality stone (in terms of performance, and severity of inclusions). I spent an hour looking over the Idealscope pictures, but didn't feel confident finding a difference. Also, the HCA scores are different (1.0 vs. 1.2); but, again, I understand that those are to be taken on context.

Psychologically, I prefer the 1.26 stone. However, I'm afraid that what I gain in color, I'm losing in performance... any opinions/help please?? thanks in advance.

The HCA is used only to weed out stones. A .8 rating is not better than a 1.4. I would call WF and ask Brian to tell you which of the 2 stones looks better; they will do that for you. They both are beautiful stones but call WF and they will help put you at ease.

No need to worry! As Skip says, varying HCA scores don''t necessarily mean one diamond is better than another. Both of these ACA diamonds are superb and consistently top notch performers. You have picked a superb diamond which will give you the maximum performance possible, so try to relax and know you picked a fabulous stone.

Skippy made a great suggestion, have WF compare them. However, I would not be surprised at all if they said there was no difference whatsoever. They are both outstanding. There isn't a "bad" one, not even close.

Thanks Skippy. I actually purchased the stone with the help of a rep at WF. She was very helpful, but didn''t have much of an opinion on which stone looked better.

Unfortunately, the G-stone is at an appraiser, while F-stone is still at WF (long story), so they might not be able to tell me which one is better. I guess my question might appear to asking which one is better on paper??

Neither. Again, you have two "cream of the crops". Relax, you picked a stunner.

Thanks for the opinions/reassurance. I do appreciate it.

One final question, which I forgot to specify in the original post: It was the inclusions on the table of the F-stone that bothered me the most. The G-stone has most of the inclusions off the table. Is this concerning at all?

Forgive me if I sound unnecessarily worried. I know the stones are beautiful. I've just spent so much time researching this past month, I just want to be 100% sure I'm not dropping the ball at the end.. again, thanks.

Did you ask WF if it was eyeclean? and from how close?

I hope you selected the first stone in your posting...because if you did not, it has been sold.

But, both stones looked great...so if you didn''t purchase the first one...you''d be perfectly safe selecting the 1.21ct.

Best of luck!!

Yep, I did ask if they were eye clean. WF said it was eye-clean at 8cm and 20cm (not sure about latter distance). Thanks to this forum, I emphasized the importance of having the diamonds be eye-clean.

And, yes - I did purchase the 1.26 FSI1. I actually purchased the 1.21 GSI1 first, but returned it, since the F-colored stone fit my specs exactly (well, on paper at least).

Again, thanks for all the replies.

Both are lovely, you really couldn''t have made a wrong decision there! I''d love to see some pictures of the final ring!!!
