Meet my new bezel studs! They were not planned but I’m so excited for them. A few months ago I decided to get a sapphire to set in a ring. I finally settled on a three stone design and realized that my existing 0.84ct OEC studs would be perfect side stones, so clearly I should upgrade my studs. My original studs were from OWD so I went to them again for my new ones.

I wasn’t looking for a warmer color, but Adam had this L-M pair and they were the right size and price so I ordered them. The cut is so great and I wanted to keep them, but was slightly worried they had too much color. In their original yg 6 prong settings they looked almost light yellow. But I went for it and had them reset in a wg bezel and I love them! They are definitely warm but don’t look yellow anymore, and in many lights they look pretty white. I love their color now. It’s so fitting for an OEC sometimes.

Here they are in their original setting with my old studs (which I think are an H). They look very yellow here.

More pics in their original setting. It’s a beautiful setting but I just love a bezel

And now in their new bezel home. They reflect the colors around them so much, like blue sky or green trees here, that I barely notice their actual color.

Gorgeous! I think the white gold bezel setting really complements the delicious chunky cuts. Enjoy!

Those are beautiful! The cut is so pretty, I don't notice the color.

Dreamy! nothing better than warm oecs in bezel studs.

So you got two perfect sidestones and an upgraded pair of earrings... Why don't more of my projects come with unexpected perks like this? :appl:

The stones are lovely, and they match really well - and they come to life in their new white metal mounts  Threads like this are fascinating me right now: I've got a pair of lower-coloured OECs (S/T and U/V) that I'm trying to figure out what to do with... They don't take to yellow gold, but they're also noticeably more tinted than white metals... And the way they change colour depending on whether I'm in the sunlight, under a cloud, indoors at night - such chameleons!! Have you found that your stones shift less now that they're set in white metal?

Thanks everyone! I love the size too. My old ones were good for casual wear but I always felt they were a little small. These have presence but aren’t too big to wear everyday. I might have to take them in to a local jeweler though because the backs are a little pointy and I do sleep in them (they’re screw backs). My other ones were smoother.

@yssie I do think they shift less now. They’re more consistently one warm shade instead of sometimes looking whitish and other times looking very yellow. I was worried the white gold would make them look dingy but it doesn’t at all. They’re actually not as well matched as my previous pair, I can see a slight size and cut difference, but obviously that doesn’t matter once they’re in your ears. It does make me even more grateful for the pair going into my ring because they are much whiter and a very nice match and that’s something I’ll notice on my finger.

And I’m so excited that my old stones will go into a ring! When I did the math and realized they were barely 0.2mm off what I needed, I figured I wouldn’t find a better matched pair in that size with that color. Here’s a pic of them with my sapphire while they were still set, and then a poor picture of them all unset. It really is hard to get an accurate picture of a Montana sapphire! Especially loose because I’m afraid to take them outside. They will be bezel set, because I want to bezel all of the things. The sapphire isn’t a typical round brilliant cut and it has a small table and slightly chunkier facets so I think it goes really well with the OECs

Very beautiful, love the bezel. Enjoy!

Oooo, they’re stunning.

These are so lovely & they look great on you! Amazing how the colour was so influenced by the colour of the setting. They were a definite yellow before but now look really white!

Makes sense to me! Put the pair that matches exceptionally well and complements your sapphire best in the ring, put the larger pair on your ears for those glimpses in darkened windows ::)

I’m looking forward to seeing the completed ring! There aren’t too many wrong times or places for the right bezels

Love the new settings!
