People reports that Kim Kardashian is now engaged to New Jersey Nets forward Kris Humphries. The NBA player proposed with a whopping 20.5 ctw diamond engagement ring. The platinum ring is set with a 16.5 carat emerald cut center stone flanked by a pair of trapezoid cut side stones weighing 2 carats each. Celebrity jeweler, Lorraine Schwartz worked with Humphries on the classic engagement ring design. The Keeping up with the Kardashians star is often seen sporting jewels from the celebrity jewelry designer, and Kardashian had specified a preference for an emerald cut. “[Lorraine] always listened to what I would want and the shapes I love. I had said I loved an emerald cut and they were scheming and plotting for a while,” Kardashian told People. The magazine reports that Humphries was confident with the ring pre-proposal. “I knew she’d love it–she better!” Indeed.
