Would you believe it? There''s a wonderful Thai site creativegem.com (not to be confused with another site creativegems.com, which uses the plural ''gems'' instead of the singular ''gem'').

According to my friend, he had the good luck to encounter the fantastic chance of coming upon various gemstones on the site with 0.00 as their price, even for some he had expected to be over a thousand dollars in value. However, he was required to make minimum purchase of $20 before he could send the shopping cart to the next stage in order to complete his purchase.

As he was too busy, he didn''t make any purchases on his first visit. On his next visit, he couldn''t find any free offer. Selecting the same item plus others of much less value, he decided to look at his shopping cart. When he decided to delete all items from his cart, his browser went into failure mode.

On his third visit, his luck came back. This time he took advantage of the free offer for the gemstone that was normally over a thousand dollars but could be his for free. He selected some other items just over $20. He was able to get to the purchasing details stage. Unfortunately, he was unable to complete a transaction just before the credit card stage as his web browser again went into failure mode.

He cursed his luck and thought that was the end of it. However, he tells me they were nice enough to send him an email containing a pro-forma invoice for the items he had selected on his second visit in which the gemstone that he had wanted was priced at its full price of over a thousand dollars.

He''s wondering whether to take advantage of their helpful email in getting that beautiful stone at full price now or try his luck again, but next time, by wearing a Cat''s Eye, maybe he will be lucky finally.

As for me, I wonder whether an 8-carat Red Garnet will be even more powerful than his 30-carat Cat''s Eye Chrysoberyl. Should it be Almandine or Pyrope? Or, better still, an Imperial Jade Cat''s Eye, if Mogok can find one for me in one of his trips to the mines. On the other hand, maybe cat eye is more for protection against bad luck while a star is more for good luck? Maybe I could find a large star sapphire for free at creativegem.com. I think I''m going to try my luck too.

Hello,
Well some young website especially from Thailand can show some mistakes like "price: 0.00" because sometimes the staff uploading the items are not carefull enough... Human mistakes!
In Thailand its not that easy to find people speaking english correctly and its culturally difficult to ask your staff to complain or to report a mistake. The traditional think is that if its like that its because the boss wanted the things like that and... that's it.

In the website I help, they have encoutered several times this kind of problems... But well if things improve nothing is all the time perfect.
By the way, just for your pleasure as your post make me remember that: They have put some interesting top quality gems in the special Gem treasures area... with no price!
Here is an example: 22.76 chrysoberyl cats eye!

Enjoy!

Its standard boilerplate and accepted policy to not honor website pricing errors the odds are he never would have got it shipped for that price.

Hello,

Well this "no price" thing in some website is a way for the website to say that they are trying to get people ask for more information about the stone.
It's a traditional technique in gem business especially here in asia that some website try to adapt on internet. If your have the right good quality gems... Putting prices will just make the people run away of may be buy on the spot for a price which is just to low... In order to test the market: You put something with no price, you advertise a little bit and you read your mails.
Then you sell to the best offer.
Like in traditional gem business in Burma...

Burmese people use to tell me that you dont have to show or tell too much about a gem at a time. Slowly, slowly like a stip-tease you communicate about it in order to give the time to the customer to compare qualities and prices elsewhere, to test their market... and to make an offer!

That's the Burmese way...

Its all about that!

I hope that you understand my point,
Hoping to have helped,
