The color density (tone) must be fairly light, since at that size, most garnets would be opaque. The cut seems to be accurate (good meets and no window) but rather unimaginative. Large gems need more facets and often offer spectacular cuts. This, in contrast appears to to be a scaled up 2 ct cut. Oh well, it can always be recut. Thank you, Chrono.

A large stone would need a lot of facets to make it sparkle more so a portugese cut will do this garnet good.
