Your thoughts on idealscope image

Hi all -- received three idealscope images back from JA, and am making my final decision. I'm leaning towards the following stone, which has a HCA of 2.5 (idealscope image attached). While it is an SI2, the gemologist said it faces eyeclean, is "very bright", and offers "great light performance". He did say that another stone I had inspected (which cost 10% more, which is why I'm leaning towards this one) was "a little brighter", but ultimately "you cannot go wrong with any of these options".

I have to admit I'm hoping for confirmation from you guys and gals here, but if it's ugly, let me hear it!

The image looks fine.

Is the grade setting inclusion under the table? For me, with Si2 stones, I prefer the inclusions around the periphery where I don't tend to fixate my gaze.

Not quite -- but it is mainly twinning wisps (which JA told me are generally white and eyeclean), and the gemologist said it was eye clean. Here's a zoom photo (attached).

looks great :appl:

Zoom photo looks pretty good to me.

Yep, looks like a good SI2 to me, too!

Looks like a very nice find!

nice stone.

PHEW! Thanks for the reassurance, guys and gals. I really expected the worst and thought people would tell me there was too much white/black in the idealscope or that a HCA of 2.5 is not worth it. I appreciate all the feedback of the hardcore members that diligently read through all the threads!

It does look good! Is that the twinning wisp at about 1230 position? Anything on a 10 - 20 - 30x zoom is easy to see in a picture, but IRL, I'm sure its just as the gemologist said - eye clean!

Did he specify what distance eye clean meant?? Some people want it eye clean at 6" / 8"/ 12"... I'm just curious. Its a lovely stone!!

Yeah, that is one of the 5 or 6 twinning wisps according to the GIA cert, although it's the only one that I can see in the magnified image. Cert also says it has a needle and miniscule feather, but I can't find them.

The gemologist didn't define eye-clean in terms of distance -- just said it was eyeclean. Probably partially my fault because when I requested the inspection I just asked if they were eyeclean, not if they were eyeclean from a certain distance.
