It seems as if round cuts are the easiest cuts to judge for a lay person, lots of input and lots of tools.

Do you have recommendations on princess cut specs for best quality? It will make it much easier to understand for a possible online sale. Very appreciated!

You should check out www.gemappraisers.com. They've got tools and charts for princess cuts that may help you out.

I went to get the chart at the site and got this error:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005'

Cannot generate SSPI context

FOODIE,

gemappraisers gives the following specs for a grade 1A princess cut:

Table: 62-68%
Crown Height: 9-10%
Girdle Thickness: Thin to Medium (1-3%) or Medium to Thick (1.7-5.5%)
Total Depth: 64-75%
Polish/Symmetry: Good to Excellent

For 1B and 2A grade stones, the girdle thickness, Depth%, and Pol/Sym specs stay the same, they just have looser standards on the Table% and Crown Height. Hope this helps.

The cut charts are just a start. Princesses need to be seen to be believed!
