After looking at everything on this forum, I went out and narrowed down to two choices:

  • Diamond A is less included and have slightly better HCA rating and what appears to be better light performance from my untrained reading, it is expensive for its size.
Diamond B is quite a bit larger and cheaper and seems like a financially smart choice, I am leaning toward this one if there are no red flags.
For both diamonds, are there any issue/flaws I am not aware of?

Thank you so much!

They're both gorgeous. The only thing I have a beef with is on the VS2 those inclusions seem to be on the table and that would really bug me...Have you seen these in person?

I'm assuming these are from JA? Have you asked a gemologist to evaluate them side by side?

I don't see any red flags. They both look nice. Diamond 2 is the better value; VS2 clarity is much less expensive than VS1 clarity. The size difference between the two diamonds will be noticeable. Ask JA about the crystals in diamond 2 -- are they clear or dark? Are they visible from the side? Clarity is graded from the top, but some people don't want to see inclusions from any angle.

@diamond<3 I am buying them from one of the reputable online dealers, but unfortunately I wont get to see it until I buy (there is a return period though). The seller's gemologists said this is eye clean (their definition is 8 inch face up) thought it looks visible with high magnification.

@ Christina, yes, he mentioned the smaller one is a little bit more lively but the larger one is cheaper and a good pick too because thats what any casual observer will pick up. They are the seller, so of course all have good things to say about both diamond. :cheeky:

@ Lula, thanks for the advice, I am gonna fire off an email to their Gemologist on this.

How does the edge look? Does these white teeth(leaks) on the ideal scope normal, or are they a bit too big?

Both of the IS images look great, and like Lula said there are no red flags. My first concern would be that they were eye clean which has been confirmed, though you can ask that they take a second look using your criteria for eye clean as a guide. It's different for everyone. Some people don't want to see anything from the side, some from a distance of three inches, some are fine seeing nothing from an arms legnth, so it's good to give a clear definition of what it means to you. I've purchase a couple of stones from JA and I've found that their gemologists are very honest and accurate so I wouldn't worry that they were trying to deceive you.

My personal preference based on the proportions only is for the first stone, however, if the gemologist confirmed that the second was eye clean to my standards and it was a bright well performing stone, then I'd be tempted by the larger stone. It will definitely face up much larger than the first and they are correct, visually size is the first thing a person sees.
