I bought a GIA cert. an emerald cut diamond
1.01 carat
clarity vs2
color f
depth 66.2
table 69
girdle ext. thin to slightly thick
floure none
Price $3500

My first question
Is that a good price?
Will a round cut 1.01 look bigger to the eye?
I''m setting in a staright baguette band.

Thanks.

Because the diamond is deep, a standard 1 carat round would be larger in diameter. Although, if this diamond is rectangular, the length here may be longer than a 1 carat round... You have not provided measurements of length and width.

When it comes to "price" you should have looked into the Pricescope search BEFORE making the deal. Put in the parameters and you will discover how well you did on the diamond....www.pricescope.com

PS: You did okay on the price, but check it out....!!!

Thanks David,
Its 7.06x4.77x3.16
I have setting with straight baguettes that is 3.6mm wide.
So I'm afraid that the center stone will not show up as much as it would with a slightly thinner side stone.
Should I set the diamond in a mounting with just four prongs or four prongs with basket.
Thanks.

Hard to advise you on this. It is such a matter of personal preference. Certainly, the diamond is long enough to look just fine.

Thanks

Be careful with the ext thin girdle...

So what should I do?
Should I find out where it's thin before I set in the mounting?
Thanks.

Yes, you should try to find out if the girdle is ext thin in a small part or in most places. How are you planning on setting it?

The same place I bought a setting from (just a local place)
I was thinking of setting in a four prong mounting. Without
the basket, so it will stand out more.
