I only have about $2k to spend on a diamond, and I'd like to get as big of a stone as possible that's reasonably eye clean and has no detectable color. On the GIA report for this diamond, it shows some crystals on the table, but do you think they will be visible with the naked eye? The more obvious inclusions are those to the edge (bottom edge in the picture), but I'm less concerned about those because they aren't on the table.

Btw, I've been a long-time lurker here and have learned a great deal from the many generous and knowledgeable posters. Thanks for the great info!

First, for fancy diamonds (this includes pears) shop by measurements not carat weight.
Second, I don't know if that is going to be eyeclean. But you can ask JA to have a gemologist look at it and tell you if it is, and if the inclusions are safe (no feather's breaking the surface). If it is eyelcean and safe ask for an ASET.

Third, I would rather see you get an 70something point H SI1 if that stone is not eyeclean or safe.

Try this one. It's very nearly 8x5 in measurement: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/F-SI1-Good-Cut-Pear-Diamond-1440684.asp ask for ASET

And even though the Clarity is high, try this one too: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-IF-Very-Good-Cut-Pear-Diamond-1526981.asp since it's 7.76x5 Ask for ASET

zro, I think it looks pretty attractive. Ask if eye-clean.
