I''ve been having trouble keeping up with new shows, but from what I''ve caught of Glee, it''s great! I''ve been watching Community and FlashForward on demand, and I''m enjoying both.
Thanks for the tip-off on Glee. I watched the first 8 episodes yesterday - it was addictive! Went to bed humming tunes to myself.
I also tried out Three Rivers just now. Not bad, but the medical stuff is a little annoying. I''ve never seen a 28 weeker that''s looking and behaving like a full-term infant (or 1-2 month old!). Or a cardiac transplant surgeon doing a C-secton. And no hospital I''ve ever been at has had those fancy display screens and computer systems. But maybe we just don''t have enough money in health care in Canada. I''ll give it a couple more episodes before I give up on it as being too annoying though. Did that with Mercy this year, and House long ago.
I''m loving The Good Wife. Still watching Lie to Me from last year (we were really sad that Life got dropped). Modern Family''s good. Trauma''s entertaining so far.
OK, I''ve watched another 2.5 episodes of Three Rivers. They seriously need someone to vet the medical content on that show. I don''t think I''ll be watching it any more. Sure, it''s nice to raise awareness of organ donation, but how they''re presenting and managing the guy with the closed head injury after the bus crash in episode 4? So wrong! The CT scan didn''t match their diagnosis, the patient would never have gone to get scanned without already being intubated... and it goes on and on. They couldn''t even get the rhythm right when they got the bus driver back from her cardiac arrest. "It''s sinus tachycardia at 20, doctor." Shoot me now!
Sorry - I know no non-MD or RN would give a damn, but can''t we get another show on TV that has ER''s quality of medical info? They occasionally had things wrong, but never to this extent. And since when would hot chinese medical resident head out with the hospital''s transplant coordinator to do organ retrievals on his own? Heck, in Ontario, there is no hospital-based transplant coordinator. It''s all run centrally through Trillium Gift of Life, and they send coordinators to the donor hospital only to manage things. They handle all contact with the receiving physicians through their central location.
Enough of a venting thread-jack for now... Hope I haven''t spoiled it for anyone who actually likes the show. For now, I''d only continue watching it for the eye candy.
I big puffy heart Modern Family on ABC. It takes a lot to make me laugh out loud at TV shows but this one does it. Last night was hilarious. That is totally my sense of humor.
I love Glee, but I can''t get my daughter to "get it"! I was looking forward to "Lie to Me", but it wasn''t as good as I had hoped. I haven''t even heard of The Good Wife.
I''m just waiting for more Nurse Jackie and True Blood.
