What's the history behind the original chain?

Was an easy decision to buy a 3.39ct vivid green tsavorite, but can’t decide on a setting for it now.. love the blue sapphire black pave spiral ring that @Neptune has, it just makes the colour pop!

But a toi et moi seems tempting too.. perhaps with a mini icy jadeite bi/jadeite carving, or diamond, or another coloured gemstone

Yay! You bought it! I saw the insta post and was wondering who had done it
I have been toying with the same idea of setting my new spinel in a bi or with jadeite. It is just over 3 ct, from the same store as yours. Thank goodness the store is closed this week so I can stay out of mischief.

What's the history behind the original chain?

Well, I have an actual vintage diamond station necklace in yellow gold that I really love.

It has 7 stones. Anyway, I really wanted something similar in white gold. And I wanted the same type of chain with the bars. So I hunted around for a while on Ebay and other places, until I found one in white. It took a while. I had 5 small OEC's, kind of rescue stones, so I had DK set them in the new to me white chain. I've since found 4 more, so adding those to have a bit more sparkle. I hope to get it soon. Thanks for asking.

AHHH the colour of these, they’re heartstopping!!! Gosh (‘: both the brightness and saturation of these neon gems, they match so perfectly!

Perhaps it’s time for me to start hunting for @Crimson ’s gorgeous pink spinel sister to match as well… such an inspiring combination of colours!

What other greens do you have in your collection and how are they set? I personally really like the green with that vivid blue! It’s be great in a moi et toi

If I may switch to the “things you’re considering” but keep on the tsavorite theme… stumbled upon this 7ct tsav cabochon listed online (14*11*6.5mm). I am a big fan of cabochons and the decision would be between this vs a jadeite cab.

Pricing seems sensible at under $500 per carat. It comes with a Chinese cert.

Frustratingly, the vendor is refusing to take a video of it (because the videos look nothing like the real thing apparently), so I only have still images to go on. I *can* get it shipped to a local store but have been told that if I don’t keep it, then she’ll hesitate to work with me again…

So, I’d love to get any opinions as I’ve not actually seen any tsavorite cabs in real life… is this stone worth using my “silver bullet” on?

Also, please let me know if I should be posting this elsewhere. The old tsavorite thread is closed!

Thank you!! The vivid blue isn’t really that vivid in real life tho, if only it has that level of intensity (‘:

From left to right from front then back
- “Milo green” jadeite ring
- Chivor emerald ring
- Muzo emerald pendant
- Bluish-green and red tourmaline toi et moi ring
- Tsavorite earrings
- “Imperial green” jadeite pendant (with a crescent cos it’s toooo tiny to be worn alone!)
- Tsavorite to be set~
- Guatemalan forest green jadeite bangle



First time putting all them greens together~ only noticing now that when side by side,



1) Toi et moi tourmaline looks lagoon blue

2) Emeralds are much more bluish than the jadeites and tsavorites, with the Muzo maintaining intensity and Chivor looking not as saturated (but very metallic foil looking compared to the deeper and glowier Muzo which has more inclusions)

3) Guatemalan jadeite looks like a muted grey-green (by itself it still looks green, just dulls out compared to the rest of the family)

4) Tsavorites were cool-tone green by themselves but became neutral green compared to the rest

5) “Milo green” jadeite looks the most yellow-green compared to everyone else.. while the tiny “imperial green” jadeite looks like the tsavorite green but also on the yellow side

Such a happy green glob of magic! I’ve not seen a tsavorite cabochon in real life before too, so can’t be of much help there..

Personally, I would wait for the perfect jadeite/cab to come by, since this particular purchase seems to come with some concerns and there’s always a never ending list of beautiful cabs and jadeite I’m tempted by.. but that’s just me!

I want to do a toi et moi and while I prefer yellow gold when i placed 18k white gold chain next to them it brought out the neon colors much more than yellow gold. I was going to stack it, but I think it looks too small stacked as well. I really wanted an eternity band but maybe it just doesn’t work for what I want (somehow big but also low-profile).

Yes, I want it wider but not higher (might be impossible). I have tried on a channel set a long time ago. It looked clunky to me, but that was at Costco and they don’t have a lot of choices for settings. I hadn’t heard of bright set, but I looked it up and I have seen those before. I have not tried one on. I think I need to try on a bunch more to figure out what I want. Those are good ideas, thank you.
