I've been wanting a zircon bracelet for awhile and finally this week I bought--two! The first arrived with a stone loose in the box and an underwhelming center stone..but her sisters are all lovely puffy crowned old cut beauties so I'm keeping it-- plan to make a bezeled bracelet with them. Then I saw another zircon bracelet and decided to go for it too:dance:

How awesome! I watch for zircon bracelets, but they have all been too small for me. I think they give a lot of bang for the buck!

Well, I've finally decided to upgrade. I'm pulling apart my three stone and going back to a solitaire.

This will be my new center stone:

Screen Shot 2021-05-06 at 4.06.18 PM.png

Interestingly enough, Brittany, who has gone back and forth with me on this for over a year, is currently away from WF on maternity leave. As a result, after all the work Brittany put into this with me, I'll actually be pulling the trigger with the lovely Michelle! Sorry Brittany! Your help, however, was invaluable!

@mrs-b what will happen to your current 3 stone side stones? Or your current larger center cluster earrings (I think I remember reading recently you are remaking your cluster earrings with small centers!)

I can’t wait to see your updated collection - sounds so lovely! :appl:

Hi @mjea -

The short answer is - I don't know. Watch this space?

The two diamond sides in my current 3 stone are very precious to me for personal reasons, and I always felt as tho they didn't get the respect they deserved in my 3 stone. I'm considering a moi et toi ring with marquis diamonds. A sort of 'spray' arrangement.

We'll see!

I'm hoping this is my last upgrade, but we'll see. I'd love it to be...but I have a feeling my *very* last upgrade will be a 4ct G VS1. It goes on and on.

My very favorite diamond thus far was my 3.4ct H VS1. I loved that diamond! I've had more expensive ones, but that one was just such a beautifully cut stone. I'm hoping this one - which I've never seen, of course, will be just as lovely. I suspect this one will show more tint, but 4ct is my size sweet spot and VS1 is my ideal clarity. So I'm getting close. If this one isn't *IT*, it will be a very nice stepping stone to my dream diamond.

Fingers crossed!

My upgraded studs are en route to me!
I didn't hit the 1.5-1.8 ctw that I'd eventually like to get to, but I'm happy with these 1.225 ctw. They should he a nice size jump from my current 0.63ctw

My fingers are crossed for you too!

If I ever upgrade, it will be for an ideal cut, but I will have to find the same size in mms so I can use the same setting I just got for my reset. I don't know how much wiggle room there is to re-use the same setting!

Ooooh - yes! It would hurt not to be able to use your new SK beauty! I love that setting, @Fabulous50 - it's just glorious! Is it really worth upgrading your diamond, tho? Can you see anything in the cut that you don't like? Lack of sparkle? Light return? Or is it just a mind-clean thing?

For me, it was a clarity thing. And size - of course. But honestly? Clarity mostly. I take a number of macro shots of my ring and, when I do, I can see the inclusions. I know where to look, of course, but even so.... I previously had a 4ct I colored stone - and it was too tinted. I'm hoping this H is ok. If not, then G it is! I'm just REALLY hoping I don't have to go to an F VS1!! We'd be talking around 130k for that, and that's just too rich for my blood, so I'd probably have to go back down to, say, a 3.75? I could live with that, but there's something about that magical 4 at the beginning for me....

I probably wont upgrade cause I do love my stone, its just once I learned about the ideal cuts it made me want one! Also the stone sparkles a lot more in this setting. Or maybe its my imagination, ha!

My stone is H in color, but I rarely see any tint. Maybe I am not that color sensitive, or maybe the mdm blue fluor makes it look whiter? IN any event, I don't dream about a higher color so much as a better cut. One thing for sure is this SK setting is staying! :kiss2:

Congratulations @mrs-b on this beautiful diamond! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked at it.
I hope you completely love it as you did your other H, I’m sure it’ll be stunning.

I just got my dream warm OEC from Eragem! They are letting me return the original setting for a generous partial refund, which is wonderful of them. I’m going to set it in a simple unplated white gold 8-prong solitaire. It’s a 5.48ct GIA M VS1 with 50% table and 64.7% depth. I love it!

Your diamond is blindingly beautiful and I adore the simple setting and matching band that you chose for it! With such a diamond, you don't need any....distractions! A simple setting will showcase it beautifully!!! Huge congratulations!!!!!

I'm back to working on j-hoop earrings, e-ring reset, then maybe the moi et toi.

This is very similar to what I'm considering - only much smaller! My rounds would only be 1.92ctw. For that reason, I'm not sure it's worth it. I do think it would be lovely tho, so I'm undecided.

I'm working on a pair of J hoops also! 18 x 26/27 pointers - all E colored and ideal specs, individually certed. I currently have 15. I also have a bunch of 20 point stones, so I might pivot and do them in 20 pointers. They're not set until they're set! I think J settings keep the weight down, as you don't have to include a metal hinge.

Sounds like our project lists are almost identical!

So I don't know if this is the right thread for what I'm going to share but I have two projects underway!
The first one: I'm having this diamond set in a simple Tiffany style 18 kt white gold solitaire setting, which will perfectly match with my plain wedding band! I'm planning on using this set everyday and keep my more elaborate, three-stone ring and matching half eternity band, for fancier occasions!
