My older sister is only 6 days younger than her husband. They both lived all over the world before they met, which was in London when he had returned from Germany for a friends stag party. It turned out he was from the next town along from our childhood village & they were born in he same hospital. Spooky!

They felt an instant comfort together & he literally went back to Germany to break up with his girlfriend, resign from his job & move back to the UK. He proposed after 8 weeks & they've been married for 27 years in May. Being around them is like wrapping myself in a comfy warm blanket.

He always says your only as old as the woman you feel !

But it just means i never got to know my lovelly MIL and FIL for long enough but then my dad died young so that goes both ways

it is a bit harder now with him retired the last couple of years and not in great health but life is what you make of it

I just wish i had been of the generation that knew cheaper petrol

I know two people who were born when dad was in his 90’s and mom was in her 20’s. One is an only child, the other is youngest by about 70 years. The second was 3 when dad died. Mom was the Guatamalean housekeeper. He said dad rode horses until he was 96 and jumped the fence on the horse. Neither one really has any memories of dad. Both are in their 60’s now.

My current husband is 10 years older.

My first husband was 8 years older.

Ex-fiancé 1 was 38 years older.

Ex-fiancé 2 was 3 months older.

ITO pop culture references and shared upbringing I probably had more in common with the ex 3 months older. But for years after we split, the ex 38 years older was the one every man I looked at was compared to.

Then I met my now husband and I stopped comparing. We’ve now been together for 12 years and married for 9.

Those two get along famously, and I read that parrots can be traumatized when their 'mate' dies.
